Made a last minute booking in January. Couldn't have asked for more. Comfortable hotel with very friendly staff. Everything we wanted. Hope to return in the spring to make more of the fabulous countryside surroundings. Would definitely recommend.

Is there a local pub in walking distance from hotel
Not really the 8 Bells is about 1.5 miles the Churchill is even further but that's not in the town centre

Not sure as when we stayed it was for a wedding. The main restaurant was busy with non wedding guests and for the most part the wedding party and reception were in a room away from main hotel. I was one who retired early and was not disturbed by disco noise. At breakfast next day there was no complaints as far as I am aware

"The lovely bedrooms in the main house have no access by elevator, but my 94 year old husband managed the stairs quite well."
