We stayed here as a last minute change of plans when Wales, where we were supposed to have visited, went into lockdown. Being half term we were lucky to be able to book two nights anywhere in the Cotswolds so were very glad to have got in to the Charringworth Manor for a couple of nights at short notice - albeit at a huge premium - £285 B&B pn on the Saturday night! As a luxury hotel its everything you would expect ... friendly, attentive and helpful staff, large comfortable bedrooms, peaceful lounges, great 'fine dining' and breakfasts, super swimming pool, wonderful surroundings! So what could possibly be wrong with it? In short ... a woefully disappointing bathroom. No luxury toiletries (just some cheap shampoo and shower gel) sink mounted high up on a wall .. nearer your chest than your waist ... with hardly any surfaces to put washbags on, old stiff sink taps, wobbly shower handle, loose shaving lamp, water damaged panel on the side of the bath, chip in the enamel of the bath ... you get the picture. Totally out of character with everything else about the hotel and we were probably just unlucky ... but Management ... please sort out the bathroom. I'm sure other bathrooms in the hotel were 'fabulous' as advertised on your website, but ours most definitely wasn't worthy of a £285pn DeLuxe room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view over the valley. Ours actually didn't but a few others do.

A picturesque location with beautifully kept rooms and a superb restaurant. All the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and generous with their advice and time. An extra special thank you to Oliver who went out of his way to ensure everything was just perfect. One of the nicest places we have stayed - looking forward to returning.

We dined in the new garden pods with views over the garden and countryside. Such a good idea in the present climate. It was a cold Autumn afternoon but we did not feel the chill thanks to the outside woodburner. The food was delicious and the service was exemplary. We have had the most perfect afternoon, all thanks to the attentiveness and kindness of the staff. Thank you all, especially to Maricia (so sorry if that is not the correct spelling), we hope to return again soon.

At this difficult time, it was lovely to get away for a few days at this truly fantastic manor hotel, which was very COVID19 aware, the premises are absolutely spotlessly clean, special mention to Anthony, who did a fantastic job constantly working hard, keeping our room and the rest of the hotel very clean and tidy. As always, there are certain people that stand out and go that extra mile, for you, in this case, for us, Will in the dining room is such a lovely man, explained the menu and was very attentive, especially with Hugo, also big thank you to Jess, who served us most days in the lovely restaurant, where we had the same table for the whole of stay, which was a lovely idea, especially as Hugo was allowed to join us and get given his breakfast sausage, but without a shadow of a doubt, our sincere thanks gratitude and appreciation, have to go to the lovely Oliver,( Ollie ) at reception, who absolutely made our stay the best we have ever been on, so genuine and helpful, we were the couple , who took a walk and got completely lost with about 12% of signal left on the mobile, on a warm Sunday afternoon, which made us late back for dinner on our first night, Ollie guided us back on the phone and believe it or not we had walked past the back gate, a further 1 mile up the road, but back safe and sound Ollie greeted us on the pathway and changed the dinner reservation too, everyone knew about it and showed concern, as it is easy to get lost, as there is nothing around only fields and windy roads. To go to the pool, you have to book your slot for 1 hour, we wanted a later time and got the pool to ourselves, which was lovely. The picnic basket on the package was also a lovely touch, as the weather was good we took a drive out and had the picnic, there are no faults to note, all staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel is just so lovely in every possible way, so much so, we have booked for a return 2 night stay in November to celebrate our wedding Anniversary, which Ollie kindly reserved for us in one of the suites. Thank you again

Another wonderful stay here, which would have been our third this year, if it hadn’t been for lockdown. Oli in reception was very warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Oli. Jess and Tom in the restaurant were very professional and the food and service first class. We felt very safe and comfortable and pleased the pool was operating albeit on a bookable timetable which worked very well. We very much look forward to returning early 2021. We have stayed at many Cotswold hotels but find this one, one of the best for location, amenities, amazing food and impeccable service, and great value for money.
