Only stayed one Monday night as we were on a cycling trip but what a nice pub to stay in - excellent staff, lovely room, very clean, evening meal was great as was breakfast. Situated on the old quayside with pleasant views across the river. They have a live band (on a Friday I think) - all credit to them... More

Stayed one night. Everything was of high standard. Friendly and efficient service. Small room but very comfortable bed, strong shower and big towels. Avoid road facing room if you're noise sensitive. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, well, prepared and used good quality produces. All for very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Stopped just for a Saturday night as we were visiting our new grandson born the same day in Lancaster Royal Infirmary. We were greeted and checked in by the landlady who warned us about being booked up for dinner later. Not a problem as we wanted to eat early before going to the hospital. The food was fresh and delicious,... More

Stayed in a twin room for 1 night with my daughter. Room was spacious, clean and furnishings were modern. Had dinner and breakfast in the pub - both were very good and all the staff were friendly and welcoming.

We stayed for just one night here - small but comfortable room overlooking the river. All the staff we met were very friendly & helpful, everything was spotlessly clean, our evening meal was restaurant quality & the breakfast menu extensive. It was only a few minutes walk into the centre of Lancaster & up to the castle. Walk along the... More

We booked at shortish notice and were delighted to be able to get rooms for three of us. The location by the river is really pleasant and the fields behind the hotel made it feel like we were in the countryside instead of being only a short walk into the city. Parking was convenient and free of charge. The rooms... More

Chose the Wagon & Horses in Lancaster, both for its location & reviews - super choice - welcome warm, excellent food, room - small but clean & very comfortable. Extensive & fun menu cooked & presented very well, much more than pub dining at very reasonably prices. How did they bread the poached egg on John's "Pulled Ham Hock" starter?... More

Stayed for one night when meeting up with friends. The bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the bed very comfy. There was a tea tray in the room with a selection of teas, coffee (including decaff), galaxy hot chocolate drinks and biscuits. The only downside was the room overlooked a flat roof where there appeared to be air-conditioning vents which... More
