We found this pub purely by accident on our way to Cumbria we had to get off the M6 because of an accident & ended up getting lost. It was a lovely sunny day. First impressions we were dubious about going in. From the outside the pub looked well worn. What a pleasant surprise inside, staff were welcoming and everywhere... More

Stopped here for a meal on Saturday night with my partner. We were met at the door by the landlord who directed us to our table, booking optional. the ambiance of the place was very relaxing. The staff were very attentive. The meals arrived piping hot and were very delicious. The beer was good too. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely... More

Recently stayed for two nights B+B at The Stork. After reading several unflattering reviews we were rather dubious about booking. Pleased we did as in a lovely area for cycling and sight seeing. Greeting very pleasant, room very clean and cosy, with view out over beer garden. The room was well equipped with a full size corner shower, hand wash,... More

This could be a lovely pub with excellent food, but it isn't. 4 lots of sandwiches were ordered - Ham, Cheese, Tuna and Prawn. Each plate consisted of 2 slices of cardboard packet bread cut into quarters for each sandwich, a few crisps, a teaspoon of coleslaw and a salad, drizzled in a most unappetising dressing. Why can't the dressing... More

Food not great - long wait and service not great. We only ordered sandwich sbs chips so not difficult to get wrong but it was busy so I guess ... Playground fab. Garden fab. Nice choice of beer and wine. Fingers crossed it's a one off and improves as I love this place.

the stork offers and good variety of food and drinks , we visited and was informed it had just been taken over by a new manger and kitchen staff. the menu was only temporary and is being re-mastered so I look forward to see what they have to offer. food was satisfying for what you pay for but could defiantly... Friday 1 July my partner and myself assaulted by one of the locals - wouldn't recommend if it was the last place on earth. The landlord and land lady showed no compassion for our safety or health and left us to sort ourselves out.

A DIVERSION OF COURSES En-route to our overnight location, we diverted towards the Glasson Dock coastal area and found this 17th century white-faced hostelry and, after finding just one space in the car park at the front, Jan and I made our way into the building, still espousing the rustic charm of yesteryear; in fact, had the occupants been clad... Service - fine, some of Our food was good (starters and my lasagne in particular) but my Husbands steak pie had very little steak In it and was Quite dry - and frozen chips which I always think is a shame.... Stopped for lunch on a sunny Monday afternoon. First time we have been since the new owners had taken over. Food a lot better than the last owners and the staff were very obliging. Will certainly return
