The Abbey Hotel is just 100 yards from Tewkesbury Abbey and close to the centre of the town- so is a very good choice for a visit here. There are several good restaurants within easy walking distance. It's a nice hotel based on a conversion of a building several centuries old. The breakfast is particularly good!

This hotel does what is says in the reviews. It not fancy and really only just comfortable. But it is clean. Everything is very basic. But the bed was comfortable unfortunately the pillows weren't. White towels were spotless. Breakfast was very acceptable. Lovely bacon and nice bread. Ladies were very helpful. Unfortunately there was a problem with the TV remote... More

Created from 3 adjoining hotels the Abbey hotel has charm and character. The welcome was warm and our room well equipped with a decent size bathroom and 2 comfortable chairs - rarely found in a chain hotel. Service at breakfast was friendly and quick with a good selection from the cold buffet and the full English. Well worth a visit.

First we chose Tewkesbury as it seemed to be in the centre of where we wanted to be. lots of restaurants ,parking & the river. Glad we did . Friendly locals in the Berkeley & panache. Although slight disbelief that someone from Cornwall chose to holiday in Tewkesbury! I liked the clear & honest information on The Abbey website. Parking... More

Beautifully located next to the Abbey with lovely views from the room. Ideally located near restaurants and shops. Friendly service from all staff. Room was big. Bathroom was clean but didn't provide shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Dust on TV and window sills.located at the back of the hotel we could hear the fans from the kitchen but these were... We had to collect something from Tewkesbury so decided to stay over. I tried to call the hotel to explain it will be around 10pm by the time we got there, but trying for an hour until the phone was answered. The member of staff didn't seem too happy with that. After arriving we drove passed the front, which needs... More

Not a review I was happy to receive! We do not have low standards here - although sometimes the hotel is unattended if I have to pop out. The only reason we are wary of late arrivals is because the car park gets full and late arrivals can block cars leaving early in the morning so we have to be... More

Great location very pretty in the English countryside, I would describe this not as a hotel more of a bed and breakfast, it had free but obstinate Wifi, great breakfast, an unrelated Italian resturaunt attached, challenging parking and street entry, wonderful church bells Friendly owners and nice staff, could do with a lick of paint, and some upgrading work But... We had a really comfortable stay at the Abbey Hotel. Our host was Exceptionally kind to us when we realised we had left our international plug adapter in our previous accomodation and gave us one he had in store ( as it was a Sunday and no shops open had one to sell.) Our room on the 1st floor had... More

Don't be put off by the low price or the fact that the front entrance looks scruffy. Inside, the Abbey is clean and comfortable. We had managed to book a room at the back which was quiet, and although the furnishing was basic the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with all you'd expect plus tubs of Greek yogurt and... More
