Our business uses this hotel on a regular basis and it really works well from a convenience and efficiency view point. Check in/out is always polite and speedy. The outside facilities are excellent with lovely views of the golf course. The rooms look newly refurbished and are of an excellent standard. Brilliant customer service from all staff. WELL DONE Mercure !!

Fabulous reception on arrival, made us feel very welcome. The room was lovely and clean with a view of the golf course. A lovely bar area and seating, which was very enjoyable to sit out and relax at. A very convenient and well stocked gym, glad I had it to myself add two or three others and you’re going to know each other is there. The negative was breakfast, the lady who was serving us struggled to be fair. Couldn’t explain any options, could only describe as ‘full English’ ok are there any options of eggs? Blank stare and reply ‘full English’ … scrambled eggs it came with were awful. Almond milk was requested and was a out of date on the printed best before (august 2020) and I write this review on 7th june 2021, and had long past its 5 days open! All in all a nice stay but wouldn’t bother with a breakfast payment.

Dear James, Thank you for your review. We're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and we will be sure to pass on your kind words about the reception staff. We are shocked to hear of your experience at breakfast. This is not the quality of service we aim to delivery at the hotel. We will be investigating this further to ensure nothing of this nature occurs again. We do hope you will give us the opportunity to showcase our true offering on your next visit. We look forward to welcoming you again very soon. Wishing you well it the meantime. MMK

Pros: Check in was good. Room was great (exec room) with a view of the golf course. Staff very helpful and polite. Cons: restaurant closed. No draught ale as it was off. Breakfast - too few staff and they were really struggling. We noticed this so ordered everything at once to reduce waiting time. Also had no receptionist in the morning. Would stay again but only when everything is open and working well !

The hotel was clean and reasonably comfortable. I was surprised that there was no food on offer; the first week being allowed to eat and drink inside I thought they’d be chomping at the bit to serve food, but I guess they have their reasons. The bar area is lovely, inside and outside, however the attitude of the staff was questionable; when I asked if I could still get a drink when the bar was locked at 10pm, the (I assume manager) who was standing chatting to people at the bar answered “we I’d have to go and get the keys and open it all up again, but I can if you really want one”; hardly busting a gut to provide customer service. Having spent a night without heating (which I don’t blame them for, it was the first week after lockdown after all) I asked the same guy to have my heating looked at because I was cold all night, to which he replied “okay I’ll tell ‘em”, no ‘sorry for the inconvenience sir’ or ‘I’ll make sure it gets sorted out’, in fact I had absolutely no faith that he’d tell anyone. All in all though it is a nice hotel and good value for money.

Dear Vince, Thank you or your review. It's great to hear you like the hotel and feel it is good value for money. We usually pride ourselves on our service, but we are shocked to hear of your experience at the bar. We are looking into this matter as priority as this is not what we'd expect you to experience at our hotel. We apologise and hope that you give us the opportunity to showcase our true offering. We are pleased to confirm our restaurant will be reopening from this weekend so we look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Wishing you well in the meantime. MMK

We were attending a funeral and had an early start getting there. So we decided to stop here for breakfast on our way by. I called the day before to check we could, the team were super helpful from start to finish. The breakfast was good but the service was even better. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff each individually stopped and chatted with us which was so nice. Mecure, you have a really great team here who are ambassadors of your brand. Take care of them. Special thanks to Priyanka Raj, Mark O'Key and Lauara Guella (who was only on day 2!)
