I arrived late at night after breaking down on the motorway. Nigel was extremely accommodating that evening (and the day I checked out) and offered me a spacious yet cosy room with an en suite. Breakfast was good. It was an all-round very personal service which made me feel at home.

Had to make a business trip to Basingstoke, and found that all hotels around this area had incredibly inflated prices even in off peak season, Premiere Inn were asking for £130 a night! I managed to find The Basingstoke Lodge for £90. The place is in the middle of a housing estate out of town but the room is clean... More

I just feel at home. Fantastic service, very clean and organized place. The breakfast area is very comfortable, just like at home! and the food is great. Much better than many big hotels around there. I highly recommend this place for everybody.

reserved 2 rooms at short notice, all very clean and comfortable. 5 Star hospitality from the owner, nothing was trouble at all, only a few minutes into the town centre or leisure park, cinema's and restaurants. Would be keen to stay on every occasion when visiting Basingstoke.

We were transferred to the Basingstoke Lodge by Travelodge when they couldn't provide us the room we had booked with them. So they paid for our (two) rooms at the Basingstoke Lodge (including a complimentary breakfast). It was certainly better than the Travelodge. The rooms were fine, and the breakfast was very nice. The landlord, Nigel, is an interesting chap,... More

Stayed here on business for two nights in February with two colleagues. Warm welcome from the proprietor. Comfortable room with en-suite bathroom, desk, and Freeview TV, if a little on the chilly side (though my colleagues said their rooms were quite warm). Plenty of plug sockets for laptop, mobile etc (a plug socket by the bed is something a lot... More

We stayed at the Basingstoke Lodge on a business trip and were super happy everything! A lovely welcome, clean, simple and quiet rooms, WIFI included and a nice breakfast. It is indeed no Boutique Hotel as such but yet has everything you need to feel comfortable - definitely recommended!

i stayed recently for work. The room was small but had everything I needed. The bed was very comfy. The towels were very hard and I could have done with a second. There was no evening meal offered but the Indian restaurant nearby was recommended. Breakfast was sufficient

I stayed here as literally there was no other option. I agree the word boutique is very misleading. Host was friendly enough and I got a free drink on arrival which was nice. Room was ok, nothing special. But had everything I needed. Agree with other persons comment on smell. There is a lingering whiff. It didn't help either my... More

'Exciting New Boutique Accommodation in Basingstoke'? I think there may of been a touch of poetic licence on the website description! There is nothing Boutique about this place, it is a B&B. I found it to be fairly small, and although the room appeared OK at first glance, the whole place had a rather unpleasant smell of what appeared to... More
