The ideal choice for Business and Pleasure. Rosemary and Adrian are delighted to welcome you to this period Georgian Guest House, set in a quiet oasis, within easy reach of the bustling centre of Telford, the footpaths over the Shropshire hills and historic Ironbridge. Originally the Rectory of St James' Church from the 17th century to about 1975, it now provides quality bed and breakfast accommodation, with charm and character, and that little bit extra. We delight in providing a welcoming atmosphere where the simple things are done well; a vase of freshly cut flowers in your room: Afternoon Tea to greet you on your arrival: a well cooked breakfast of locally produced ingredients with homemade bread and jams plus eggs from our own hens.

We stayed at The Old Rectory for four days to visit Ironbridge and the Shropshire Hills. It is a charming house with a lovely ambience. It occupies a quiet spot and has a large and delightful garden that was a pleasure to return to after our trips out.. We stayed in the Besselow room which was spacious, comfortable, well-equipped and spotless, with a lovely view over the garden. Breakfasts were excellent and on our last night we arranged to have an evening meal which was both tasty and very good value. Rosemary and Adrian were the perfect hosts throughout and could hardly have done more to make us feel welcome and at home. Our sincere thanks to them both for a memorable stay.

A really lovely house, fabulous garden, all very well organised and with great facilities. We were welcomed with a lovely tea in the garden, the breakfast was superb, but what really made it special was the way Adrian and Rosemary welcomed us. A wonderful stay - many thanks.

A warm welcome with an impressive and delicious afternoon tea. Great attention to detail and thoughtful touches like torches in the bedside tables. We were chilly (in June!) but we were soon made cosy and comfortable.

Adrian and Rosemary are the perfect hosts, they were so accommodating in letting us check in early so that we could change for a wedding, as well as being knowledgeable about the area. The Old Rectory is spotless and very comfortable, the gardens are beautiful and we enjoyed wandering around and chatting to the chickens - whose eggs taste delicious. Home made bread and shortbread - what more could you ask for?

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. The chickens like to see new faces in the hope of more food!
