Great find! The place is beautiful & the service is fantastic. We had tea, scones & homemade cakes on arrival which were delicious & so was the breakfast with fresh eggs from their own chickens. Our room had flowers & homemade shortbread with a selection of teas & coffee. Could not fault anything about this place as it was perfect... More

We have stayed at The Old Rectory twice now in one year and as before we were entirely happy with our stay. Both hosts give you such a warm welcome that you feel at home immediately you enter the property. Our room, a different one this time, was roomy, clean and tidy, the bed comfortable. The en suite once again... More

I have really enjoyed staying at the Old Rectory of St. James. Rosemary and Adrian are two wonderful persons and all was perfect: food, cleaniness of the room...all perfect. I strongly suggest all travellers in Telford's surroundings to spend their nights here as it is a very relaxing and silent place so that sleeping is really nice.

There are not enough superlatives to express how much of a gem The Old Rectory of St James is. From the friendly bon homie of our welcome, cafe and kuchen on arrival, superbly appointed equipped and comfortable room and fantastic full English breakfast, Rosemary & Adrian are superb hosts and have thought of everything. Simply put: awesome.!

I'm only just into tripadvisor so this review is somewhat late. My wife and I stayed here in April 2015 to celebrate my 70th birthday. It was fantastic. What a welcome from Rosemary. She had baked a cake specially for us. Delicious! Our room was large and beautifully decorated. Luxurious bathroom as well. Everywhere was spotless and the breakfast was... More

A beautiful 2 nights. I don't write reviews but will make an exception here as Adrian and Rosemary put so much time and effort into ensuring your stay is a perfect one. Previous reviews have already covered the fabulous house, gardens and breakfast so I will just add this... don't hesitate, get it booked, you will not regret it.

This is the second time we have stayed & we can't speak highly enough of this truly fantastic bed & breakfast. The rooms are excellent, the breakfasts are superb and the welcome is genuinely warm. On arrival there is tea, cakes and scones all home made by Rosemary. There are stunning gardens and Adrian couldn't be more helpful. Overall the... More

We have just recently returned from a wonderful two night stay with our extended family. We have never written a review before but wanted to highlight what a fantastic time we had. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. We were given a delicious afternoon tea and homemade cakes on arrival - what a treat! The Old Rectory is a... More

A wonderful find. Everything about The Old Rectory is excellent. Nothing is forgotten and it is all a very high standard, greeted with a lovely afternoon tea (including gluten free cakes), beautifully presented bedrooms and a tasty breakfast. We shall definitely return.

The ideal choice for Business and Pleasure. Rosemary and Adrian are delighted to welcome you to this period Georgian Guest House, set in a quiet oasis, within easy reach of the bustling centre of Telford, the footpaths over the Shropshire hills and historic Ironbridge.
