This is a brilliant B & B. Nothing was too much trouble for Hazel. We loved the bedroom, we were in the front. This is a very spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable room, the bed was so comfy. The choice of breakfast was outstanding, If we are ever in the area again, this is where we stay.

Spent a week at The Stanage using it as a base to explore Telford and the surrounding area. Hazel, the owner, was very accomodating and nothing seemed too much trouble. Although the check in time was advertised as 4pm I sent a polite email asking if bags could be dropped off earlier. This was agreed immediately. The room at the front of the property had a lovely bay window and although the road outside was visible the magnificent trees in the garden and the fact the property sits back from the carriageway meant the noise of vehicles was never an issue. The en-suite bathroom has limited headroom - but this is made clear on the website and is not a major issue if you are not tall. Breakfast was plentiful with a good range of cereals, fresh fruit and full English on offer. All was cooked to perfection and there was what appeared to be almost limitless toast! The bed was large and very comfotable. I dislike noise and can thankfully report that the venue is quiet. On the first evening my car was bombarded with bird droppings as I'd parked it under a tree. Hazel quickly found me an alternate spot and the bird droppings ceased to be an issue. The B&B gates are locked at around 11pm giving additionnal security for your vehicle. If you expect to be back later than 11pm alternative arrangements can be made - you won't be locked out! In recent years a large number of new homes have been built around the area. The Stanage is on the edge of this new development and meant that my car SatNav sometimes struggled to find the venue due to the number of new roads. The local pub, The Grazing Cow, offered a good range of meals. Food ordered before 5pm was at a significant discount too. The pub was about a ten / twelve minute walk or about 2 mins in the car. The gardens were pleasant but due to the poor weather conditions we only sat in them for coffee on one occassion. Hazel was a great local guide and often gave suggestions for days out and also the best places to park etc. She provided leaflets and guidebooks and there was a range of reading materials (novels etc.) in the room too. The bedside snacks/drinks tray was replenished daily and flowers from the garden were placed in the room making it even more homely. Wi-fi worked well and was fast. All-in-all The Stanage provided a perfect location to explore Ironbridge, RAF Cosford, Shrewsbury and Telford. Would happily stay here again.

Thank you so much for your fabulous review of your stay at The Stanage. You certainly managed to pack a lot in during your week in Shropshire, despite the horrendous weather. We have yet to train the pigeons I'm afraid but they also like the trees in the garden. Google maps seems to work better than Sat Nav when finding us. We are very happy that you managed to fill your week, there is plenty to do in the area and most less than 30 minutes drive away and good road connections to all. Thank you

The hosts weres very warming and helpful. I paid little for the room last minute and the quality was great - spaceous, practical and homely. The room and ensuite was spotless - and nice and cosy! Location easy to find with a sign on the road.
