Had a 2 day "cheapie" off the net & to be fair didn't expect too much, well how wrong can you be! Arrived to be met by very pleasant staff who led us to our superior room which was quite large with a huge bathroom which clearly just been refurbished to a very high standard. Breakfast & one evening meal...

We recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. We booked it through secret escapes, we had a superior room which was very nice and clean shame it was only a double bed which lets it down a bit. The ensuite was very clean and well maintained. We had breakfast at the hotel which was cooked fresh for you and...

I booked this room through Secret Escapes - £99 per night including a superior room, 3 course evening meal and breakfast. Firstly, yes the car park was full upon arrival but this actually meant the fairly small bar and restaurant had a nice cosy feel with lots of friendly locals enjoying their night. Good start. I spoke to a staff...

Stayed as we were visiting relatives close by. So this was kind of the only option within walking distance. Room was small, decorated nicely, bathroom was old (green), think they had spent all the money on the bedroom decoration. Don't think I could have stayed here for more than a night as it was very small. Car park was full...

Booked via secret escapes for one night with meal and breakfast. No reception desk but check in handled at bar by very friendly staff, though carting bags through the pub and it's regulars slightly disconcerting. Room described as superior but was pokey but clean and obviously recently updated, stiflingly hot but not anyone's fault, could have done with a fan...

A lovely hot summer afternoon and we decided to pop down to the Lawns for a pint. After sampling a couple of ice cold Strongbow Dark Fruit cider, we saw food being delivered to people outside and the fish and chips looked so inviting. We were not disappointed, the fish and chips were as tasty as they looked. Service, as...

2 night short stay and base for trips into the Peak District. A great little hotel. Good but slightly small double room, well presented. Nice restaurant with excellent food, we both enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast despite a late afternoon arrival. Great staff but a special mention for The lovely Ingrid who sorted breakfast each morning.
