Certificate of Excellence
We completely refurbished this property in 2017. Be aware that some of the older traveller pictures are therefore out of date. Our revamped bed and breakfast is 1 mile from Derby city centre. We are within walking distance of the West Mill wedding venue and close to the delightful Darley Park, which is perfect for dog walks. We offer a warm welcome, comfortable surroundings and a freshly prepared breakfast of your choice. We have 3 bedrooms upstairs in the main house and a further 3 in the original stable block in the garden, each has an eclectic mix of old and new, with hand picked quirky accessories to make guests smile. All rooms have TVs, good connection to wi-fi, generous hospitality trays, hairdryers and toiletries. We allow pets to to stay in all but one of our rooms (room 7).

I was nervous about having to make an essential travel overnight trip alone during the Covid pandemic. I shouldn't have worried. Stayed in a lovely, spotlessly clean, stable room looking out onto the beautiful gardens and separate from the main house. The owners had put in place a number of procedures to ensure a conntact-free,safe, visit and every detail in the room had been thought through to ensure I wanted for nothing. Can't wait to go back again and experience the full hospitality of the place. Rob and his team deserve every success.

We stayed here for a wedding taking place at The West Mill nearby and we were not disappointed. Greeted with a friendly cuppa and brownie. They offered to store the wedding cakes that I had bought with us which was amazing as it saved us a lot of hassle. Shown to our room which was in the stables. Comfortable, own bathroom with lovely big shower. Breakfast was in the main house which was cooked to order. The bedroom would benefit from better lighting but this is not a criticism just observation.

I stayed here the night before my wedding at the nearby West Mill in the upstairs stables room and from the get go they were so accommodating to our needs. From letting us have flowera delivered to them to using the bar room for the hairdresser to do the bridesmaids hair the following morning and just generally really looking after us. My husband(!) and I then stayed there the following two nights and they cleared up the whole room from the mornings getting ready antics, brought us breakfast in bed and really looked after us. Zoe and the whole team were so caring, friendly and welcoming. We couldn't have wished for a better place to stay over our wedding weekend and would 100% recommend to any other brides to be/newlyweds!

Beautifully decorated bedrooms and a wonderfully relaxing stay. The bed and pillows were so comfy and although I stayed on a Tuesday night whilst in adrenaline for work I genuinely felt like I’d had a mini break. Attention to detail in the decor of the rooms was flawless. Breakfast was delicious, coffee perfect and Zoe was friendly and efficient. I’ve never been to Derby before and hoping for an opportunity to stay at the Coach House again - as soon as possible! Thank you for a lovely stay.

We stayed here for one night before my daughter’s wedding at The West Mill. As soon as Zoe, the manager, realised we were there for such a special occasion, she arranged a complimentary afternoon tea for us! As soon as we arrived we could smell the fresh scones she had just baked. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were fabulous, as was the Prosecco! We stayed in the three rooms in the stables and each was beautifully decorated, with fabulous facilities including bath robes and Temple Spa toiletries. The beds were super comfortable with beautiful bed linens. There is a small garden outside the stables, with tables and chairs, which would be perfect in the warmer months. The rose bush was in bloom which added to the prettiness. Zoe left us with access to the main house and told us to use the kitchen and cozy bar area, which we did. We were greeted at breakfast the following morning by Rob, the owner. He immediately asked if we would like a Bucks Fizz and of course we said yes! The selection on the breakfast menu was amazing. As well as the usual full English there was smoked salmon, avocado, poached eggs and many more. Absolutely spoiled for choice. We had hair and makeup people arriving at 8am and Zoe very kindly provided water and fresh orange juice for everyone. We were made to feel so welcome and very special by Zoe and Rob and can’t thank them enough. We wouldn’t have received this kind of personal service at a 5 star hotel. The following night we stayed at The Mill House, part of The West Mill venue and the rooms and hospitality there, whilst good, no where near compared to The Coach House. Friends of ours who were guests at the Wedding also stayed at The Coach House on the night of the wedding and couldn’t praise it highly enough. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this beautiful B & B again.
