Looks beautiful on the photos but was the most horrific hotel experience I've ever had. The air con was brokwn in our room and we were givem a desk fan!! It was unbearable and we had to check out at 730am.. The restaurant had been booked out for a function.. We weren't told this when we enquired about the hotel... More

A bit of a disappointing start to our stay with a very difficult but comical experience, in the tired and tatty lounge, of trying to have tea for 4 and 4 scones. However we braved the Chefs Table as we had already booked it and were blown away by the food. Each of the courses excelled. The staff were amazing... More

I have never stayed in such a disappointing room, having arrived late and tired I was hoping for room to relax in. Decor is heavy and very dark, room is not to 4 star standard, parquet flooring lifting and in places wooden pieces lift completely when walked upon, shabby paintwork, bathroom tiny and I am not large!! Lacks practicalities such... More

This hotel is run as a hobby and not a business. The restaurant may or may not be open, and the staff seem to be in - training and inexperienced. The waitress at breakfast walked in and out of the restaurant oblivious to customers who just walked in and seated themselves - no greetings, no taking of orders, nothing. The... More

Beautiful building and well decorated rooms. A really gorgeous historical place. Staff on reception in the day were excellent - very helpful. Although the night guy was a bit grumpy! Attention to detail let this place down. A drawer knob fell off on my toe, there was no hairdryer and one of the plugs was broken. At breakfast, the food... More

With no onsite parking you need to find alternate arrangements, the recommended parking structure is only a few minutes walk, its secure and actually a good safe place to park, however they only take cash. we stayed over the weekend so the bill soon racked up, so make sure you take some cash out first, as there is no provision... I normally am quite positive about places (my other reviews should confirm that) but I'm afraid there are too many issues with this hotel. The wifi doesn't work. The air con doesn't work (it wasn't just my room but my colleagu had the same issue), she went to the front desk to ask for someone to come and check it... More

I ran an all day business meeting at the Cathedral Quarter hotel. From the moment we entered right through to the wonderful dinner we had, the service, the quality, the attention to detail and the ambiance was exactly what I was hoping for. I stayed the night and my room was beautiful, on a split level. Quiet, full of character... More

My and my girlfriends came here for afternoon tea with the help of a Groupon voucher. Everything was lovely from start to finish and very tasty too. Highly recommend it to everyone. Finger sandwiches are served with scones and a selection of desserts. There's a small choice of tea or coffee, or even a bit of fizz. The staff are... More

Elegant building well situated but that's where the good news ends. Junior double is exceptionally cramped. The rooms are tired and neglected with stains on curtains, lots of scuff marks on the walls, toilet flush in need of repair, some mould in the shower. Internet stopped working half way through stay. We asked for a quiet room and was told... More
