On entering the depressing hole that is travel lodge Derby with its dirty walls and carpet from the 90s I was trepidatious.....my room...well let's just say I'm glad most of the surfaces were wipe clean.... Let me say now that the staff were wonderful...from the night manager who encourages his guests to drink like a fish to Zoe the angel at breakfast who always has an extra sausage in the kitchen or even the ginger ninja greeting your return from work like a hapless puppy, ready to please....... I would recommend a 30 quid a night stay here for only the most depressed single contractor...

Chef Lee was great, excellent service and very attentive. All staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to help with everything. Best service in a Travelodge that I've come across and I've stayed in many different Travelodges over the years.

My partner and I stayed here for one night on a Friday with our two daughters (8 and 10) and we found it to be a really comfortable, pleasent stay, with a particular compliment for the staff working in that evening (Emily deserves particular compliment and even our two daughters commented on how friendly and accommodating she was!). We got a nice meal provided in good time and with good service (I was particularly impressed with the superfood salad, having just recently had to change my diet and being anxious about the presence of heart healthy options on the menu). Much to my 8 year old's dismay, she left her nightlight at the hotel which she was particularly attached to. However, upon realising, we contacted the hotel directly and they arranged for it to be shipped to our address, which we were very pleased with - thank you very much for this in particular! I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thanks for the stay.

I had the most warm and friendly welcome from Josh on my arrival, I had arrived an hour early, and Josh couldn't have been more accommodating. The room was ready and clean, exceptional service at reception. Great value for money too
