Stayed in the Station hotel for 3 nights for a few days break and also for a family wedding. Price was very good £177 for the 3 nights. Very basic hotel, but very friendly staff and owner. Double bed in room was really very comfortable and had a wonderful nights sleep each night. Just normal pub food but saying that... More

Had a problem with our first room and it had numerous issues. The manager was more than willing to help and change us rooms and sort anything out. I was really happy with the way he dealt with our issues. I was offered a full refund if he couldn't find us a room that suitable. I found a room and... More

A pleasant hotel with its own bar. About 10 minutes walk into the town centre, it's ideally located with the rail station next door and 24 hour parking for just £3 in the NCP across the road. Staff are very pleasant. We had a glitch with the room type 2 days prior which was rectified by the hotel. It was... More

This hotel suited my needs. A one night stay. I was attending a concert at the guildhall so the location was perfect. The hotel is tired, stairway carpet was a little worn but not off putting. The room was spotless as was the bathroom. The breakfast was awesome for £6. My only complaint was the beer. I had a pint... More

We were pleasantly surprised when we ate here due to it being a recent addition to tastecard. Ok it looks a bit rough from the outside and there isn't much ambience inside ( just a few blokes sat around drinking really) but the food was actually pretty good and couldn't fault the staff, particularly a younger guy who was very... Thankfully this hotel only had to be endured for one night....even then I did find myself checking the local area to see if there was availability else where and being willing to suck up a loss. The station in its pictures is clearly airbrushed, it looks bright and clean....trust me that's far from the truth. The outside is rough and... More

Located right opposite the Rail Station on a busy road. No double glazing lead to a very noisy stay. The room was very small - No towels, Wardrobe door propped up against the wardrobe, dust saucers, lamp shades, dirty cups, bits and underwear sticker in the drawers, wheel missing on the bed (making it slope), pictures missing off the wall,... It is what it is...a station hotel/pub; 40 metres from the station!! Is it a noisy pub or a big hotel? Both! I arrived and in the noisy pub with loud music I picked up my key; relaxed and friendly. The rooms and corridors etc are very dated and needs serious renovation. BUT then it is cheap and it's a... More

We missed our train so decided to pop over for a quick bite to eat before the next train, when we walked in there was no staff about so we waited 15 minutes before anyone even turned up, then someone turned up who didn't even work there, asked for something quick as we didn't have much time, ordered three bacon...
