The beer in the bar was served with dirt in the pint and what looked like a piece of bogey, when the young (friendly) bar man was told he did nothing. the food in the restaurant was average but no real complaints for pub grub, a bit warmer would have been better. The wine bottle was placed on the table... More

Great little pub in the Centre of town. If your looking for a nice place to have a decent beer and good food then this is the place to try. I was made to feel welcome by the bar staff. Good value for money. The Sunday roast was superb. Would definitely call in again. 10/10.

Carvery Sunday lunch with 4 different meats and at least 6 different veg, what a choice. The meat was not overdone and the vegetables weren't soggy. All in all excellent value for money. They are not shy in giving you seconds if you have the room. There was also a good choice of cider and beer including real ale which didn't... More

It`s very interesting, clean, great food, cheap as it`s in the centre of Gloucester for accommodation. if you`re visiting by train or taxi then ideal, close to entertainment, shopping or browsing. Very enjoyable.

Lovely old looking hotel, very game of thrones!!! I loved it, great breakfast, wonky walls the lot!!! Clean, great large TV, I stayed for one night, just enough for the Mrs but I could have stayed longer ...

We booked via Late Rooms and didn't read anything about the New Inn prior to our arrival. I was amazed, it was cheap for city centre staying, we slept in the Oak Suite which was like staying in an historic old house but at half the price. Our room had its own fire place and four poster bed, it was... More

It is a fabulous and interesting old building in a really great location within Gloucester. There is no parking, but that isn't a problem with the nearby reasonably priced NCP. We had dinner there on the Friday night, and the food & service was really good. There was a singer playing in the courtyard that evening, which created a great... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a nice review. You're right, we are aware that money needs to be spent on updating the decor, unfortunately that is down to the owners rather than us, but we're working on it. Thanks again and hope to see you again some time. More

Visited at end of July after a day in the town with my family. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Architecture is very old and charming. Carvery was great apart from rubbery, dry roast potatoes.... likely from sitting under heat lamps too long or old stock. Mixed veg looked unappetising so I skipped it. Pork and yorshire puds were lovely... More

Interesting and comfortable hotel parts of which date from mid 1500's. Built like topsy with many staircases and small hallways. Rooms are on the whole quite adequate and quiet. Breakfast is very good. Serve yourself buffet but full English breakfast on offer. Check in quite difficult. Lady would NOT give us a room until 2 PM which she said was... More

Absolutely fab place to go and stay in. Lots of character both at the New Inn and surrounding buildings. Lots of history in and around Gloucester. The Cathedral is definitely a must to go and explore. Was amazed and in awe at what we saw, as you can see from some of the pictures. Will definitely be going back.
