The Hotel has a lovely atmosphere inside outside. We could not use the free parking facility as a van blocked the entrance, when I asked them to move they had no interest to bother asked me to wait 15 minutes so we had to find another parking space and pay for it. We had an afternoon tea booked and the...

We had a fantastic time at the old Swan, fantastic architecture throughout, lovely staff from the lowest to the highest pecking order, our room was wonderful as was everything we encountered, can't fault anything, I would add some guests my have forgotten who they were, some actually thought they were royalty and expected a standard they most lightly don't have...

Thankfully the bedrooms were warm because reception, restaurant and bar were all absolutely freezing. We had to go back to rooms during dinner on the first night to collect jumpers and jackets as dining room is huge and soooo cold. At least we were ready for that when we went to breakfast. This was served on super hot plates but...

The hotel is a blast from the past, I mean that in a positive manner. Its nice to see traditional furnishings and tasteful décor. The bedrooms are a touch small and the beds are simply not big enough for two. The room was clean and tidy and gave an air of peace of rest. The bathroom was functional , small,...

hotel is very large, free car park, rooms were very nice and warm, staff were very friendly, cost of meals were very expensive, drinks are expensive but on par with pubs in the area, nicely situated for the town centre and all its attractions, we really enjoyed everything about this short break.

Really lovely hotel, staff very friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We loved it and will definitely be back. Breakfast was very tasty. The hotel is very close to the town so we didn't need to use our car.

Well situated, about 10 minutes walk from the town centre, the hotel suffers from still feeling old and a bit jaded. While it has a good size car park (strangely run by the local council) it holds lots of events and during my stay parking was in very short supply and chaotic. My room was small and ok rather than...

Walk to town in 2 minutes - lovely relaxing bar with real fire and good service. Room was very small as was bed and bathroom - glad I didn't drop anything in the shower as I wouldn't have been able to bend down and pick it up !! That said, we did get a very good deal with Groupon which...

Lovely period hotel, stayed here for afternoon tea, which was very popular indeed. A wide range of fancies were on show, each delicate and extremely tasty. A good selection of finger buffet was available too. A pleasant afternoon.

Weather was kind ,frosty then sunshine both days .We arrived earlier than expected ,but upgraded room was ready after coffee in the lovely comfortable lounge ,and a quick walk into town only 5 mins away. Room was very spacious, clean ,and fresh milk was available on request(a plus). Slept like logs in...
