Clean, well furnished b&b directly opposite the conference centre. Also well located for town centre, despite its location it was quiet although my room (1) was at the back. Breakfast average. Fruits and cereal available. Rooms pretty well equipped. Host efficient, formally friendly. There's many small hotels along this stretch, equally well located, not sure I'd return here.

Lovely comfortable B and B - so much nicer than the usual business hotel. Nicely appointed room - good quality equipment and nice shower. Fluffy towels and good quality linen and a much appreciated hottie bottle! . Great Stuff! For the touch of excellence beyond compare..1. maybe put fresh milk in the rooms rather than offer 2 ask guests not... More

we had a fabulous time at Scotia House. The house has a lovely welcoming feel when you walk in. Our room had a big comfy bed, nice big towels, bath robes and sweets and chocolates on the hospitality tray along with an amazing choice of teas. Breakfasts were well cooked and well presented with plenty of choice. Marie was an... More

Booked in early August and deposit paid, arrived yesterday to find that the owner did not have me booked in. She tried to say that the deposit I had paid was non-refundable and this was her first 'mix up' in 5 years. I agree we all can make a mistake but where did that leave me. It was 4pm and... More

Marie the owner was very friendly and welcoming and during our stay nothing was too much trouble, Room was spotless and had everything you would need. Breakfast had everything you could want, don't know how she does it for the money.

A clean, comfortable small friendly guest house. Food and variety for breakfast was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, you will not be disappointed if you stay here ! Close to the Conference Centre and a short walk into the town, Bettys tea room is very worth a visit and the queue moves very quickly, if its raining all is... More

I booked a single room for a reunion with the people I joined the army with 45 years ago. The room was clean modern and comfortable. Plenty (8) of electric sockets. Fantastic en suite facilities even for a larger person like myself the shower was big enough. I didn't try the breakfast as I was on a diet but the... More

The owner Marie was not very welcoming, made us feel we were bothering her. Did not chat to us much - this could be good or bad!! Breakfast was good, nice to see fresh fruit choices. Room was fine, just not laid out well - opening the en suite door it kept hitting the chair, the mirror was in a... More
