We (me and business colleague beebs)stopped in for quick bite after a long day on the road. It has great feel, stone walls , tiled floors , stripped wood, bar staff were friendly , we grabbed and drink and menu with a table near the fire. The menu has all the gastro pub choices you would want and more. Beebs... More

Stay here regularly and the staff are welcoming and accommodating. In the summer there is a garden (yes it is of course there all the time but cold). Good rooms with WiFi desk and space. Well located for A1

We visit the Bell every couple of months for lunch and it is always very enjoyable. The building itself is very beautiful and inside it is very comfortable. We always eat in the bar area where, in winter, there is always a roaring fire which adds to the atmosphere. We usually have soup or sandwiches and we have never had... More

Very accommodating and friendly staff. They looked after us and even sang happy Birthday to my Mum whilst bringing the cake. Nothing was too much bother for them. We were in the Bistro which caters well for parties and children. There is greater choice on the menu as well. We had salmon, prawn, pate and brie for starters and roast... More

We regularly use The Bell and find the location ideal just if the A1, near Peterborough and not too far from Stansted. Staff are friendly and attentive and the rooms are very good. Food in the restaurant is very good.

I booked a room and a table in the restaurant for my hubby's birthday. When we arrived, they had upgraded our room to a really splendid suite. It was gorgeous. We had a lovely sofa and tv area and a big comfy bed and lots of space! During our stay nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing -... More

Go out for dinner on a Monday night with my wife, so drove the 30 minutes up the A1 to Stilton, A very nice venue, nice log fire in the brasserie, service was prompt and polite, food and drinks were good, would have liked to sample the cheese board but didn't have the room, so will return again.

We stayed for a friends wedding in Sept and had a fantastic experience. The wedding day was well organised and the food was fantastic especially the beef. The room was fine, plenty of space but the service was so friendly and personal, it made The Bell stand out. Breakfast was served with a smile and on the second morning we... More

Thank you for your kind words and in particular that you believe we stand out. As a small, historic coaching inn I sometimes think we don't belong in this age. However, I like to think we are carrying on the tradition of offering a friendly welcome to all our customers. Hope we may look forward to seeing you again soon.... More

Recently visited for a celebration lunch. The village location is lovely and the Inn is obviously old, but has been very sympathetically modernised. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival, and shown to our table. At first we were puzzled as to why we had been recommended to book, as it was very quiet, but halfway through our meal, and... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your visit. I personally think The Bell is a beautiful example of a 17th Century Coaching Inn and has successfully held on to its old world charm. It sounds like you had a lovely celebration lunch and I look forward to seeing you again in the near future. Kind regards Johanna Grimshaw... More

Great friendly service and food is great. If you are a stilton fan then you will certainly enjoy the selection. Specials board as well as the standard menu. Nice clean and well run establishment. Easy to park. Will definitely return. There are 3 restaurants to choose from I ate in the Bistro.
