This has been one of my favourite places to eat out and in the past we have had excellent service and a lovely meal. However last night it all went wrong. To start with we were kept waiting for nearly half an hour for our table, even though booked in September, we kept asking the manager when it would be...

Myself and a few friends of mine were drinking locally in the evening when we decided to dine out for a meal. Knowing the area well, we decided upon the Queen's Head, as it was somewhere we hadn't tried recently. They could fit us in and we arrived with eager stomachs at around 8pm. We were greeted at the bar...

What a wonderful evening, the staff have been so welcoming and helpful and the food nothing short of excellent. Try the belly pink croquettes they were beyond delicious. The lamb and the chicken divine and believe me we eat out a lot . The chef has a lot to be proud of, as do all the staff . The room...

A group of friends went for Christmas lunch. Very disappointed , not at all Christmassy. No decorations, no Christmas table dressings, no Christmas music, we even had to ask for Christmas crackers! Food served on cold plates, vegetables not great, turkey disappointing. If you want something Christmassy you won't find it at the Queens Head! The gents toilets dirty.

If you are even thinking of staying at this hotel don't do it. The first room I was " given" the key too, was cold, damp, and dirty. The heating did not work and was totally uninviting. On complaining to the manager he came and tried to sort the heating out, but alas nothing; after 30 minutes I went back...

we stopped here for a drink on a Saturday afternoon. This is a sympathetically restored building offering a bar, restaurant and rooms. the bar area is small and quite intimate. Other couples were eating an attractive afternoon tea when we arrived. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere

This is some what a belated review and I apologise to Paul and his team for not posting earlier. We had a joint birthday and wedding anniversary party on 21 Aug. Right from the planning nothing was too much trouble and on the day the team were first rate. We had a BBQ down by the river and despite the...

My partner and I was bought a buy a gift so we decided to book a night at this country pub with chalets attached. Because we wanted to go to the air museum the next day. The chalet was comfortable, but a bit dated. We had tea/ coffee facilities with complementary homemade biscuits. A large TV. White fluffy towels. Bed...
