The rooms may need a bit of a brush up, but the nice setting, friendly Gloria and the excellent food are the reason to go. Great location from where to explore the island. Good value for money. Can only recommend it.
This is a very good place to stay in Bubaque. Dora is very helpful and will do everything to make you feel at home. She can even arrange ferry tickets, bicycle renting, island excursions and many other things you may need during your stay. The hotel is slightly run down. I found that the rooms were a bit bleak. There is running water throughout the day. Unfortunately electricity only works at night. That means you are without a fan for the majority of the day – it gets very hot. The food is excellent. You usually choose between fish and chicken. Both options are prepared with much care and taste delicious. You eat outside in the courtyard. The hotel is located very close to the port. Unfortunately not close to any beaches. Casa Dora is the best mid-range option in Bubaque. This place has much charms.…
Stayed here as a base for some fieldwork on the island, but unfortunately had to move elsewhere after items and money went missing from the rooms of my friend and me, and the owner offered no explanation or assistance. The place itself clearly used to be very nice but is no longer properly looked after so has lost its charm, and it is very poorly run. Lunch and dinner were never available, and sometimes there was no breakfast despite it being included in our price. The owner really doesn't seem to care about looking after Casa Dora or her customers anymore, which is a real shame. Cruz Pontes or Sal do Mar are much better value and service.
This cosy hotel is located about 250m from the port (a little uphill). Rooms are a bit smallish but spotlessly clean, water is available all day, electricity approx. from 8 pm to 8 am. Meals need to be booked in advance and are quite hearty, although not really cheap (CFA 5.000,-, Portuguese beer costs CFA 500,- per 250ml bottle). Laundry service is available and takes less than 24 hours. In total, value for money is really good. I would certainly stay again here.
A great place to stay in Bubaque! Pros: • Beautiful gardens • Simple but clean rooms • Electricity runs a few hours a day and most of the night • Breakfast is good • Staff are very friendly Cons: • Meals are a bit pricey at 5000 XOFA Overall - would definitely stay here again in Bubaque
