I had a Canadian group on a 9 day tour of Ireland, we stopped for an evening meal at the Grand Hotel just bycchance as it had convenient parking right outside the hotel. We were so impressed by the quality of the food, service & value for money, that we returned for a second time the following evening &received the... More

My mom and I stayed here in late September and found the hotel clean but in desperate need of updating. There are no bedside lamps so if you want to read in bed you have to have a ceiling light on. The bathroom fan above the shower was not covered over and had mold growing in it. However, the room... More

Checking in was easy and friendly advice was given for a walk in Wicklow. On our walk locals also pitched in with local knowledge. We wandered up to the old fort and then down along the harbour. Returning to the hotel, we discovered the Friary en route. A taste of the local Black 16 stout at the bar at the... More

Stayed 2 nights in September. The room was comfortable and a good size. A couple of hitches with our booking but was quickly cleared up by the duty manager followed by a complimentary drink in Wynnes Bar for our trouble.

Ideal spot for a stay over, don't expect too much in the way of grandeur. This hotel has a lot of character but lacks a bit in the TLC department. Needs refurbished big time although the rooms are tidy and comfortable they are not spotless. Staff very friendly and hospitable meals were good. Great homely atmosphere about the place. Wifi... 4 of us went to the Grand Hotel for dinner on a Friday night. There are some nice new items on the Menu, I had a Beetroot Burger, very good flavour, even for a meat eater. The others had a Sirloin Steak, Fish of the day (in red ale batter) and a Steak Sandwich. All the food was excellent. The... More

We spent two nights at the Grand recently and had a good stay. Yes its carpets and rooms are dated but the room we stayed in had been freshly painted and the bed linen was white and spotless. There is a car park out the back of the hotel which is free of charge for residents. It is not locked... More
