Stayed in this hotel for 1 night, the room was freezing when we arrived I phoned reception and the heating was switched on.The room itself was clean but badly in need of a makeover especially the ensuite, little details like a valance on the bed would not go amiss, the shower above the bath had a curtain not a screen and the... We targetted Wicklow for last night, thinking maybe more quaint than Dublin, but handy for the ferry. Mistake......... There is NOWHERE to stay, other than the 'Grand hotel' in the centre. As it was Hobson's choice, we walked in. Reception staff were pleasant enough, but weren't sure if they had a room, went off to check, returned to say they... More

Couldn't fault the staff, service or food at breakfast and dinner - it really was top notch service. However, the building itself could do with a bit of a makeover - the carpets were a bit grubby and the room itself had a few small things that need to be fixed but none of them were affecting my stay as... Will not be staying again the slamming of doors constantly makes it impossible to have a good nights sleep and I requested a quiet room. Basic rooms. Not impressed with comfort of beds either. Disappointing. Won't return.

Stayed a couple of nights here, the building might not be at its best and would benefit from a lot of work, however the staff, the service and the food we could not fault, the grand old lady needs attention but was spotlessly clean. My husband is a wheelchair user, the staff where so helpful with out being patronising. Definately... More

For the price, 120 Euros a night, we were extremely disappointed. The TV was antiquated, the shower disgustingly filthy, the WiFi erratic, the lift behind the wall noisy. There were holes in the doors adding an unkempt feel to the room. Then dinner....service was poor, 20 minutes to receive our drinks and the food, although good, also took an age... More

My husband and I spent 2 nights in the Grand at the end of September. We found it really welcoming and comfortable. Our room was a great size with tea and coffee, bath and shower, large tv and extremely comfortable beds. Parking is free when you are a guest at the hotel. The breakfast is fine with lots of choice.... More

My mom and I stayed here in late September and found the hotel clean but in desperate need of updating. There are no bedside lamps so if you want to read in bed you have to have a ceiling light on. The bathroom fan above the shower was not covered over and had mold growing in it. However, the room... More
