Our first visit to Ireland and our first night in the country. We were behind schedule due to a very late pick up of our hire car, so arrived in Wicklow too late to find any accommodation. We continued on the coast road (our mistake - no B&B's there) and found ourselves in Arklow. On walking down the main street,... More

Stayed there in Feb this year room was lovely. The room this time was not as good although it was a cheaper room. The carpet was very stained. The bed was lovely and clean so was the shower. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were all very nice.

Visited the hotel to watch the match and to enjoy some food and drinks. The food was absolutely outstanding , the staff were lovely and very welcoming , It's right in the centre of the town and has a great atmosphere , I will definitely visit here again and possibly check out the accommodation

Avoid Arklow if you can, to be fair to the town it's not a tourist centre, if you must stay there avoid the Royal at all costs, sleeping in the car would be better, the rooms are the most basic I have ever seen, the night club next to the room played loud music until 2.30 in the morning, then... We stayed here midweek to come to a funeral, we found it clean, local for what we needed. Staff really friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was good. Don't get negative reviews, can't speak for weekend when nightclub open, but we found it quiet. There was a talent comp on with lively music, room we were in we could not hear... More

Hotel is very central to everything as it's I the heart of the village. But it's not a hotel u would go to for a get away.. its more for hen and stags. Rooms are very old fashioned don't have tea or coffee or anything really in the rooms . There was a horrible smell of smoke probably as the... More

On arrival we went through to the bar looking for the reception, the barman handed us our room key. We went to the room and were met immediately with the stench of stale smoke. We were facilitated with a different room, which was only big enough to side-step passed the bed to get to the bathroom. But the second room... More

Centrally located hotel, right on the lower main street. Its is unbelievably cheap, CONTACT HOTEL DIRECT FOR BEST PRICE. It can be noisy, being as the only nightclub in town is in the bar below. The bar is lively late at night (thus the noise). Breakfast is more than adequate and only 5 euro when i stayed. The rooms are... More
