Was visiting the Castle for a whiskey tasting with dinner and the experience was fantastic. From the decor to the staff and the food was all great. Next morning had breakfast made from items from local producers. Pure quality for sure. My only complaint would be €15 for 2 pints a bit expensive but with the location and history, I can live with that.

My husband I enjoyed our one night stay in the castle. Our room was charming. We enjoyed a walk around the property, before the rain set on. Our dinner was a complete delicious delight. We loved talking to servers. We felt like friends by the time our dinner was over. I did not expect to have a large dinner, because it was four courses, but I could not eat it all(which made my husband happy). Our meat was done to perfection. We then enjoyed some time in the beautiful bar room. The bartender was delightful and very informative. My husband enjoyed a flight of scotch. We learned much and he enjoyed his Scotch. He was even allowed to look at a very rare Scotch, over 1,000 euro a shot!! To end our too short stay, we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. A truly unique and beautiful location with simply the best staff. We were fortunate enough to have our small wedding here in October 2023 and from the beginning of our planning process Gillian was so responsive and went above and beyond to meet our needs. Even with minimal planning on our end staff members Shona, Sally, and Michael stepped in at every phase and were able to make our vision for our big day come true. Our family have not stopped talking about the amazing experience here and I cant wait to return in the future!

There is a car ferry to the island every 15 minutes. We loved the BC Sanitan sanitary ware and the great shower. Large bed. Slept like a log. The hotel has beautiful old lead windows. Staff were great.

My husband and I stayed here for a night (was supposed to be two but we left early to meet friends in Kilkenny) this past week and the staff was wonderful! We absolutely adored Michael- I would adopt him and take him to the states if I could! David was also amazing and so incredibly helpful with places to see and visit! We stayed in the Presidential Suite and it was huge!

The Waterford Castle Hotel & Golf Resort is amazing. To begin, the staff were incredible. I want to start by thanking Lucia who was thoughtful, professional and made my stay even better by hailing cabs, suggesting sights and generally being an expert problem solver. I wish I could name all of the staff who went above and beyond. Thank you! In addition, the castle and grounds are amazing. We were part of an October wedding, and it was truly spectacular. Thank you Waterford Castle for memories of a lifetime.

We traveled to Waterford for a wedding, we first stayed in the Lodges (2 nights), then transferred to the Castle (3 nights). We arrived to Waterford via train from Dublin, easy to call an Uber as soon as you arrive (which are synonymous with taxis). Estimated 30 minute drive and you're on the ferry to cross onto the Island. If you're in need of necessities (food, water), the Tesco nearby, will provide all that you require. The Lodges are great, lots of space with all the basic amenities for a long term stay. Quiet and serene, and only a 5-10 minute walk to the Castle. Comfortable and affordable, if you want to stay on the Island, this is a great accommodation for families and groups of friends. Now for the Castle, a beautiful and historic estate with lovely details from floor to ceiling. It all starts when you walk through two sets of heavy wood double doors, crystal chandelier lighting above, and a fireplace that you can stand within. You feel as though you've stepped into a period piece, when corsets and bustles were the norm. Ornately carved wood panels and crown molding everywhere, creates a regal and cozy atmosphere. We stayed in the Kildare room, large and spacious. The large bay window provides a good amount of natural lighting and provides a cozy spot to read (or touch up a manicure/pedicure). Nice size bathroom, with a window that swings open, for ventilation. We couldn't locate a thermostat, so an open window helped to regulate the temperature (provided pedestal fan was also appreciated). The bed was comfortable and we both slept soundly. This room is located above the Great Hall, so if there is a wedding reception with music (band or DJ), you will hear it reverberating through the floor. We spent a lot of time at Fitzgerald Bar, cocktails and food were delicious, and the service was excellent! Afternoon Tea in the Munster room was lovely, and what I was looking forward to most, the clotted cream (and preserves) with scones, delectable! Breakfast was delightful, ample selection of pastries, fruit juice, fresh honeycomb, and charcuterie, were in addition to the breakfast menu. Clay Pigeon shooting was so much fun, the instructors were first-rate, and hilarious! A great time was had by all, would absolutely recommend this activity if you have the time. The staff are absolutely amazing, they are kind, and consummate professionals. Everyone from the front desk, bar, dining room, clay pigeon shooting, breakfast, afternoon tea, golf, baggage transport, ferry = terrific! They really enhance the stay on the Island. We loved our stay at this dreamy castle. Rooms were magnificent, and inviting. Lots of places in the castle to hide away and read a book with a cup of tea. Walks around the castle grounds were dreamy. DO NOT miss the very old oak tree out the dining room corner. Pictures do not do it justice. It is one of "The ancients" Still, the best part of our stay was the staff. Shout out to Sally, Mike and Dillon. Such charn, wit , and helpful service ONLY come from the Irish. They are the ones who make our trip memorable.

My husband and I got married at Waterford Castle this past September and I am having trouble putting the right words together to express my gratitude for every member of the staff for the experience they gave us. It was a true fairytail and it didn't even break the bank. I couldn't recommend Waterford Castle enough not only for hosting a wedding, but for any occasion. There are fun activities on the island like a beautiful golf course, hiking trails where you can spot wild deer and wallaby's, clay shooting etc. Everyone there is so extremely kind and go above and beyond for you. I can't wait to find an excuse to go back and it just might have to be for our anniversary. Fun Fact: They just won 10 awards for their hotel and in house dining experience in the highly regarded Irish Hotel Awards! One of them being "Castle Hotel of the Year 2023 - Munster and Overall National Winner." WOW! Congrats fam, keep up the great work! My daughter and I had a meal in the Munster room restaurant and we were so impressed from start to finish. The staff were so welcoming and kind and helpful. Sally of course at reception put us right at ease on our arrival. The atmosphere was warm and friendly with the service being very professional. What can I say about the food only we didn’t want the experience to end. Everything was amazing, it was such a treat for myself and my daughter and we hope God willing to go back again soon. So thank you Sam the chef and team for a beautiful evening.
