I joined friends here for two nights over the Bank Holiday weekend. Check in was fine, with a folder being given including a list of one's pre-booked meal times, a very useful map, a voucher for a future stay and a postcard! However, I was a little disappointed when I got to my room on the 5th floor- having booked a river-view room, what I got was a sideways slice of the water across the rooftops. The room itself was big and airy, with a very comfortable bed. I had asked for a walk-in shower in the bathroom, if possible, but I understand this isn't always possible in older buildings and in fairness there was a solid grab rail for getting in and out of the bath (I have limited mobility). My only other quibble about my room was that I think the windows must have overlooked the smoking area down below. Thank goodness that there was no smell of smoke but the noise was funnelled upwards - not a problem in the daytime but on the second night I had to listen to a gentleman serenading us all in the small hours The Covid regulations were strictly enforced: temperatures were taken on arrival and a very nice young man was on door duty to let visitors in and out. Both the dining room and the bar had screens where tables were closer together and we feel very safe using these rooms. I must add a special word for our waitress in the bar on our second night, Anne, who was so warm and friendly. I know it can't have been easy for staff dealing with so many people after such a long hiatus, but she was a star!

we visited as a couple over the June Bank Holiday weekend and i say everything was top notch. Starting with the food, breakfast, lunch and dinner were five star. The service in the hotel was so friendly and professional. The covid rules were superb throughout. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was superb. Overall this is one excellent hotel and worth visit if your visiting this beautiful part of the country.

It is always a wonderful experience whenever I stay at the Granville. A lively bar, a perfectly kept premises, masterfully prepared food and the most professional of staff. Each time I book, I have always been fortunate enough to have Phillip to look after our reservation. This is a man who treats each and every request with the level of care and diligence one would afford themselves. There is nothing that he cannot do for you. If I requested that a Luciano Pavarotti CD be playing when I arrived, Phillip would have the man resurrected and giving a live performance in the lobby. I was feeling a bit parched and decided to head to the bar to quench this powerful thirst. I was immediately served by a man who lives and breathes hospitality. Unfortunately I was unable to read the name on his badge due to my poor vision, however I had reason to believe that he was a manager because of the suit he was wearing and I believe the name on his badge was his full name. He served me exactly the way I that I would describe as perfect service. "Good afternoon, Sir. What can I get for you?". It was in no bit forced and it was full of sincerity. Everything he asked me made me feel as though he wanted my experience to be perfect. I believe the best service you can give is one that is professional and non-intrusive. There was no fake laughter, he didn't ask me where I was from or what I thought of the weather. His sole interest was making sure that I was being served promptly and with dignity. He truly made me feel special. I thank him. And this was the same for all of the staff at the bar. Especially later on when I had the pleasure of being served by a man named Shane. His service was the exact same as the one mentioned above. Prompt, courteous and with great respect. He also did it in such a way that conveyed a great deal of familiarity whilst without pestering me. Shane, good job. You make an excellent Irish Coffee. One that puts even mine to shame. Of course, I would not be able to forgive myself I were to finish this review without mentioning Anne/Ann who looked after us during our amazing meal come 8:30. We were seated over where the carvery was. While sitting down we noticed a lot of awards and honors dedicated to an Ann there, while I am unsure whether she is the same Ann who is upon the wall, she definitely deserves the same honors and accolades. From the moment she handed us our menus, we knew we were in good hands. She told us absolutely everything we could possibly want to know about the menu. When we ordered, she was so very kind and had our food out to us as quickly as she could. As with all of the staff there, she didn't display any form of forced pleasantries. She treated us in a kind, dignified manner that I would expect from a 5 star country estate. I stay at the Granville for level of care and respect that the staff show to every single guest. I last stayed in March 2020, the last weekend before "you know what" hit the fan. It was nice to pick up where I left off, and the staff were even better than ever. To all of you, even those who's names I have forgotten, well done and thank you.

I stay at hotels every weekend with my job. The staff at the Granville Hotel in Waterford are friendly and always helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the food is very nice. A very professional operation and especially at this time I felt very safe and confident with the professionalism shown by all the staff. I look forward to returning, often, john.

I stayed in the Granville hotel for one night on a work related trip. The location is perfect, right in the heart of waterford. The room was beautiful and super clean. The food was delicious from breakfast to evening meal. The hotel itself is very beautiful but what i loved the most abou this hotel was the very helpful and friendly staff which made my staff even better. I would highly recommend this hotel.
