Very basic and small , ok for price but could have found better value for money. Bed very uncomfortable makes a creek every little move and sound out side is awful very annoying, near some pub that's very loud !! Could hear the person next door snoring as if they were in my room with me sound proof is a... More

I recently stayed a night here while visiting my husband in the hospital. I found the owner/manager friendly, polite and very helpful. The room was a family room, very reasonably priced. I slept like a log, feeling comfortable and safe, a priority for me when traveling alone. The room was lovely and warm, coming in from a very cold night... More

My husband and i spent the past 12 days traveling through Ireland. Waterford was one of our stops. We showed up without having booked accommodations, but knew from researching online that there were a variety of places to stay. A staffer (very helpful) at the tourist info center directed us to the Anchorage. We walked over, rang the bell and... More

We are just back after spending the weekend in the anchorage guest house in Waterford city.it was an enjoyable experience for both of us. The guesthouse is well run, and the staff are both friendly and very hospitable.the room's were basic but clean, had every thing we needed including hair dryer, and there was tea and coffee making facilities in... This property does not look anything like their website photos. Read independent reviews of this guest house before considering it. We would not return. The location appears convenient but this is negated because parking close by is sparse or expensive.

booked after looking at their website, photos looked good, for 69euros all we were expecting was a clean and tidy room. We got neither. the room was beyond horrible, the décor consisted of cracked walls peeling paint and plaster. the carpet was disgusting it was scary to stand on. the bed sank in the middle. the shower cubicle was vile.... On the plus side - the location is close to major attractions, the owner was very helpful (except when I asked for ice and was told he didn't have any, despite the fact that I had been given some the previous evening), the breakfast was good. On the down side - everything else! The place was dark; carpets were either... More

Three of us booked into the Anchorage and found the place value for the money we paid. The entire place was clean and the breakfast was more than we could have asked for. A very pleasant Michael took my booking; but was away when we arrived. However, his staff did him proud and we were very impressed.

I stayed at this guest house this weekend with some friends during a roadtrip. I have to say that I am glad we only had to spend one night there. The owner, Michael, is super friendly, and it is great that there are accommodations for people traveling on a budget. For this price, you get what you pay for. The... More

"Cheap" (50€/double) but I would pay more for a decent/more central place. 15mins walk to main sights, cracks all over the room, bad view, uncomfy bed, no soundproof but owner is very nice! Go if on strict budget/one night. There's also a parking just facing the hotel.
