My parents stayed here recently and ended up in a dark and pretty horrible room. They asked to move on the first night of their 3 night stay, but were told no rooms were available. This wasn't a cheap deal either. I have suggested they stay at the Glasshouse from now on. The staff in the dining room were pleasant... More

Top rate hotel, from the moment we walked in until we left couldn't fault one thing, staff very friendly & helpful & breakfast & dinner excellent, definitely will go back, thanks to all for a great stay, added bonus of being next door to bus station & only 10 minutes walk from town centre so happy days all round

Fabulous hotel with friendly staff. gorgeous interior also downstairs. Booked in last minute no problem for a reasonable price. Ended up staying for a second night. Rooms cosy and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again but would ask for one of the superior rooms.

As soon as I walked into the lobby of this hotel I loved it. The style is vintage but very well maintained and warm. I got a great nostalgic feeling knowing the history of the hotel. We were given a room on the top floor of the original block and I was impressed with the room size. There was a... More

Very dissatisfied with our stay. The room had a stale smell and the bathroom was far from clean, with cutlery left in from previous guests and hair on the bathroom floor and tablets on the counter top indicate to me this room was not cleaned properly. The decor is from a bygone era very dark and oppressive. The breakfast at... More

Spent a few days here and enjoyed the atmosphere and old world charm of this very pleasant hotel. The staff were great, showed an interest in how our stay was going, asked us if we needed an help, really genuine!

I'll start by stating I did not choose this hotel, and was concerned to see that the Great Southern is ranked bottom by Trip Advisor in all Sligo rated hotels. But I decided to go with an open mind. The good points are that it is centrally located with plenty of free parking. Rooms have been recently refurbished, but are... More

This hotel is right beside bus and train station and easy walking distance to town. It's a grand hotel with old world decor downstairs. Rooms looking a bit tired. Staff were lovely so no complaints. Seemed to do a mid week old age break so lots of older people around with music for them in bar. Only complaint is had... More

Stayed one night at the Great Southern Hotel Sligo. The staff were all very efficient and nice. The bar was decorated in a historic style and the resident musician was excellent. The only minus point this hotel has are the many steps outside and inside. This makes it rather difficult for disabled patrons. However, this is beyond the control of... More
