I went to Sligo for a football tournament and a night out with friends. I stayed on my own however. The place is located in a retail/industrial area and is a bit out of the way, roughly 15 minutes walk from the bus station. At night the road there was well light with good footpaths, but a bit lonely. The...

We were warned on arrival that we should not make too much noise before or after we were leaving for the evening. Hadn't even said hello when the guy that checked us in reminded us that it was not somewhere to have any fun at all. Hospitality was not great and was very disappointed with our stay. Although it wasn't...

The pits no other words, filthy, shabby and get your own breakfast in a filthy kitchen, cornflakes or cocopops if you can find a clean bowl and spoon and make toast with the cheapest bread available .......... no other words just take it off every website.

Booked this place thinking its a regular hotel, in reality it's a shabby hostel. There is a small parking area in the back, luckily no other cars because this place caters to backpackers and the homeless. The dilapidated couch in the common room smelled of urine. Actually the whole place did. The room was tiny with only a sunken, hard...

Me and girlfriend stayed in this hostel over the August Bank holiday (last weekend in August). We thought that this was wonderful. It's the perfect base for travelling around the west coast. Additionally the hotel is a ten minute walk to the centre of sligo town with lots of pubs and restaurants. My girlfriend loved the traditional music session in...

Some what disappointed during and after our stay. Premises upon entry appeared shabby and neglected. When shown to our room, found 2 single beds and no other furniture, including window covers. Room was in a poor state of decor, peeling wall paper, electrical sockets consist of a extension lead disappearing under the bed.. Bathroom door could not be secured, toilet...

Scruffy with charmless decor, but clean, offering a friendly welcome, a cheap bed and a kitchen stocked with homemade scones, tea and coffee, breakfast cereals and bread. Not a place to hang out, but a cheap and comfortable night's sleep, and a delicious fruit scone or two.

The accomodation is reasonable priced and within walking distance from towncenter. Alas, this seems to attract groups of stags if you are unlucky, their drunken behaviour beraving you of your sleep. Apparently security is poor during the night.

The outside area seems iffy, but the room was lovely. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is close to town, so a pleasant walk. Not centrally located though. I felt safe and the facilities were clean.

The order of the day is "make yourself at home". I have never felt as able to be myself in the way I have here, all thanks to Laura. The room was clean, simple and comfortable, who could ask more? This is my first visit to Ireland and would definitely recommend Harbour House to anyone!
