A very warm welcome by Margaret at this cozy B&B. Great location if you're keen to explore Croagh Patrick & the surrounding area. The upstairs room we received was really only a "nook". No room to unpack your bags, & you also my wife had to consistently duck her head on one side so as not to hit her head... More

We arrived quite late and received a friendly welcome, the room was small but comfortable. No hot water on the second morning as it hadn't been turned on. Nice breakfast. A little out of the way. But great pub a short drive away, called The Taveners.

We stayed in Bertra House B&B during a visit to Mayo. It was the cleanest and nicest B&B we enjoyed during our trip to Ireland. The bathroom was new, the room had a sitting alcove with a view of Croagh Patrick and the entire place was squeaky clean. Margaret is very hospitable and the breakfast was very nice. The breakfast... Very nice bed and breakfast a couple of kilometers west of Westport. The B&B is clean, the rooms have plenty of space and are nicely done. The proprietor is also quite nice and was very helpful with local information during our stay. Bertra House is an outstanding value.

We received a very warm welcome from Margaret. 4 of us stayed (2 couples) and had a very good experience. The room at the front is the nicest with great views, spacious and bright. The other room was smaller and darker but still OK. The B&B is just a short walk from the beach, which is a really nice spot.... More

On arrival, we were welcomed by the lovely Margaret. A lady with walls full of awards for her establishment. The rooms were immaculate, the house was spotless! We had room 8, which was on the upper floor. Listening to the crashing waves at night from the beach, only 5 minutes away, was the best soother after a long day sightseeing.... More

Margaret greeted us with a wide smile and warm welcome. She apologized for having to put us in the largest room with "no view", but we could not have been happier. Not only did the well kitted room face the mountain, but the soft serenade of the nearby sheep baa-ing while we sat in the cozy bay window area made... More

The host Margaret is a Star. She could not do enough to not only make you welcome but to make your stay one that you will enjoy and one that will make you want to return for another stay. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm. We ordered breakfast the night before but... More

Me and my new husband decided on a trip around Ireland for our honeymoon and basically stabbed a pin in a map. Our first night not quite knowing what to expect, we were met and so spoilt by the lovely Margaret who gave us a beautiful room overlooking the beautiful snow capped Holy Mountain. The views are outstanding. Margaret was... More
