I decided to spend a weekend in Shannon and Limerick to explore the beautiful western Irish countryside. I wanted a room close to the city center of Limerick as well as to the churches, monuments and train station. I selected the Railway Hotel due to its proximity to the central station. I was met at the door by a warm... More

I was upgraded from shared bathroom to an ensuite single room when I checked in. The room was mid-size for an individual and the bathroom was clean with good hot water. I peered at the shared bathroom and it looked a little dirty. The hotel is right across the street from the bus/train station. I didn't eat at the bar/restaurant... More

Nauseating! I don't even know where to start. The condition of this place is one above sleeping the street. The dirt, the noise, the drunks, no heat, no warm water or luke warm at best and did I mention dirt ? You want to safe money? Go sleep in your car, tent, park or stay awake. Don't go there. I... My friend and I got stuck here for a night during a bus layover. Not only did it cost us €30 apiece to use the room for five hours, but the room was tiny and didn't even have electricity! It was ridiculous. You would be better off pitching a tent and camping on the sidewalk outside of this hell hole.

What do they say, "you get what you pay for..." Even the 30euros I paid for this dump was too much. This place makes some "no-tell motels" look like luxury. I had originally asked for a 2-night stay in this fleabag, but luckily they rang me up for only one. Now I see why this place ranks last of hotels... More

This place has got character. Spent two nights here. Night I arrived from Shannon and night before I departed from Shannon. Gentleman at reception warm and friendly. On second stay they upgraded my room at no additional cost. Quiet, clean and right across from bus and train station. At thirty euro per night it's a good bargain and there should... More

Stayed here on a Sunday Night. First room i was given had a bad smell in it. I was moved to a room with no smell, but the cleaning staff really need to be shown how to use a hoover and how to clean in general. Place has nasty looking carpets. Had the water tank above my room so had... More

Location 'central' - not true, 10 min walk from the centre. Staff are unfriendly and rude and make you feel like you are bothering them when you are asking them something. In the breakfast room we were first given a menu with prices for breakfast though breakfast was included. Forks and glasses were dirty and the food was bad. Old... More

Great food and great staff! The rooms could use a little updating. The queen bed barely fit into our room (about 1 foot to spare on each side of the bed). This meant the person sleeping next to the heater got very hot while the other person was cold. A good budget option right across from the train station. Excellent... More
