Was working in the area, no idea where to stay. As we drove through Kilfinane we spotted ballyhoo ra hostel. What a find. Thresa and seamus were very friendly and welcoming. Furniture and layout is superb. Spotlessly clean. Looking forward to staying here again.

Overlooking lush Limerick and Tipperary for as far as the eye can see, is the Ballyhoura Hostel in Kilfinane. The hosts gave us a very warm welcome and had even got the fire going in time for our arrival. Our room wasn't en suite but the facilities were just across the corridor so it wasn't a problem. The beds were some of the largest that I've ever experienced in a hostel. This helped to ensure a good night's sleep.... More

The first thing that strikes you on arriving at Ballyhoura is the warmth of welcome from Theresa and Seamus, the owners. The facilities are great and the whole place exudes a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Not your average hostel this place is so well put together . The rooms showers toilets are pristine. Common areas are lovely large and spacious with a nice warm fire and cosy sitting room in the mix as well. Staff are super helpful and accommodating. This is top of the range experience .

Absolutely the best hostel me and my friend stayed in out of the four across our recent trip to Ireland. magic hostel. fully functional. Accom clean and warm and welcoming. Parking / Bike Sheds / Dry Rooms / Great Kitchen and Chill Zone / Wifi etc etc. And the best and most capable hosts ever. its my 2nd time and there will be more as there is so much cool stuff to do around Ballyhoura.

Ballyhoura Luxury Hostel is nestled in the Ballyhoura Mountains at the foot of the Galtees. We are in the town of Kilfinane, the highest townland in Munster, with many pubs, shops and restaurant just a stroll up the street. The Hostel is ideally located as a base from which to explore Munster and south Leinster. The Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty castle, The Rock of Cashel, Lough Gur, Cork and Limerick cities and many other places of interest are within short driving distances. Our Luxury hostel offers the height of comfort with hotel grade mattresses on solid hardwood beds, all dressed with 100% Egyptian cotton linen. Numerous high powered showers and a sauna give you the opportunity to really relax after a day exploring the area or after being engaged in one of the numerous activities on our doorstep. The immediate area offers many different hikes/mountain walks, mountain biking, horse-riding, claypigeon/air rifle shooting, archery, indoor wall climbing, abseiling and kayaking/canoeing. As we are in such an activity hub, the hostel has been purposely built to meet the needs of the outdoor pursuits enthusiasts with bike lock up, bike wash area, purpose built drying room and of course the sauna. Many weary travellers enjoy relaxing by our big open fire on our large comfy couches reading a book, watching T.V., or simply unwinding to the sound of the crackle of the fire. Those who are less weary and more energetic always enjoy an evening in one of our many pubs, where the locals are friendly and the pints are flowing. ... more   less
