The hotel room is very cosy, the bed was comfy, everything was perfectly clean, the towels places on the heater to keep them warm was a plus, as it is amazing to dry yourself with some warm towels. A small chocolate box on the room was an unexpected small treat, I loved it. The location of the hotel is one of the best points of it, beside the Kilkenny castle and also near many great places to eat. Also in front of the hotel there is a street fair on Thursdays and Saturdays, it is just lovely, a few places to eat, some fresh fruits, and a few tents selling handcraft products. The only downsides is that the hotel doesn’t provide a service to keep your luggage before the check in or after the check out. And during the summer the room can get warm, they have a small ventilator in the room that helps as the windows don’t open too much.

Absolutely loved the feel to this hotel , we decided to have a Sunday night away and I usually go for the bigger hotels with pool etc so I taught we would try something on the main Street (can't get a better location )and it really suited us better , such a relaxed feeling and staff are super friendly , the guy on reception recommended some places to eat ect and we loved them. The breakfast the next morning was definitely the nicest I've had in any hotel . It wasn't buffet was made fresh to order . The buffet still had continental breakfast etc I added a photo of this . I would highly recommend this cozy hotel and will be returning soon for a break

This was the second time we stayed here and I can't recommend Hibernian House enough. The location is second to none, it's clean with friendly staff. We didn't drive on this occasion however they provide parking if needed. The breakfast is well worth it too. You can't go wrong with this place.

We stopped overnight for a wedding. I think the negative reviews on car parking are a little out of the hotels control and unfair. There a two car parks literally right around the corner - it's Kilkenny town what do people expect? We dropped our bags off and headed off so we didn't get much time to spend in the actual hotel but what time we did stay there the staff were absolutely wonderful. Beds were comfortable, room was spotless and breakfast was delicious. My husband was very sick on the morning we had to check out and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Amy, Ciara and Beth were all fantastic. Great customer service and will most definitely be back again.

My adult son and I stayed at the Hibernian house which is operated by the Hibernian Hotel across the road. The House is an old place (as you'd expect from from its location in the city) but it was in good condition. I'd recommend the hotel for a family or elderly [stairs] but for adults the house is fine. That said, the overall stay was excellent. The front desk staff (day and night) were the BEST. My son had a medical emergency and I believe all the staff were genuinely concerned and as helpful as possible. More than I'd expect including a late checkout at no added cost. We enjoyed music in the bar. Two gentlemen playing banjo and guitar with no amps. What a nice place to sit and have a drink/dessert and listen to good music! Kilkenny is an interesting and historic place. Stay at the Hibernian if you go there. Locations is right next to the castle. Take time to chat with the people. Its an opportunity not to be missed.
