I was very surprised when I entered the hotel. From the outside it doesn't look great but on entering it has a charm of its own. It's not modern but lovely and cosy. The staff are very friendly and the food is good too. Clean room, linen changed daily tea and coffee making facilities. Most enjoyable. Central location.

My husband and I stayed here for one night in August. I would recommend this hotel to young couples/hens/stags. It's central location is ideal as it is close to all that Kilkenny has to offer. The hotel itself is dated and rooms are basic but adequate.

I was in town for 6 nights for the arts festival.I stayed last year just outside the town centre and it was too much trouble walking back and forward all day long.I checked out a number of the central hotels last year looking for a quiet place that was NOT attached to a pub with drunks wandering around most of... As an introduction to their New Menu at Victor's Bar & Restaurant at the Club House Hotel which is a family run hotel and managed by their son Ian Brennan who offered Dinner for two as a prize on the local radio KCLR. In itself this was a wonderful prize but he then included two tickets to see a production... More

The Club House Hotel borders on quirky but is probably just a little outdated at this stage. I would like to say the hotel has character, and it has a little, but it is also badly in need of being redecorated. Rooms are small but comfortable, bathroom is likewise but while we stayed here while attending a wedding in another... More

The service was great - friendly, prompt, polite. The food (breakfast) was excellent. The building itself is quite old - nothing wrong with that but the décor could do with a revamp and the bathrooms are old. However, that didn't spoil our stay at all. There is no lift in the hotel so if stairs are a problem for you... More

i was a little unsure how many stars to give this hotel. it was probably a 3 & 1/2. stayed here for 3 nights with my wife on a short trip. a couple of things to note - the TV was a very small one, with all the irish terrestrial stations, eg 3E etc. the decor in the hotel looks... More

I've been visiting this place for lunch and dinner for more than 20 years. The building and the menu have remained largely the same during that time, but it remains true to itself. If you know what to expect you really won't be disappointed with this place. It's a hotel from a different age and the decor is 'club house'... More
