Good Location & Nice Staff. The place is slightly outdated but still holding character. The food is nothing to write home about but is reasonably priced. You'll have plenty to do within walking distance of the front door. Well worth a visit and priced accordingly.

The other accommodation we had been looking to book in the town center was really not good. Accommodation in town was short, so we thought to move on to another village. We happened to walk past The Club and thought to walk in and ask on the off chance. We had coffee and pea & ham soup first. Good food, lovely dinning room, bar and lounge area. One double room was available for 2 nights. We took it on the bases that from what we had seen everything was clean and the place was obviously well run. The hotel is old with lots of lovely features. I hope one day when it is renovated they keep most of these things. Our room was down a few corridors and up some short stair cases. Good size room, double and single beds. It was perfect for our stay. Don’t bother looking anywhere else in town to eat..we did and ended up back here for dinner. The food was amazing! Crispy skin duck on a bed of noodles, was so good. Hubby had the Lamb shank. This was the best dinner we have had in Ireland. Big call eh?! Will eat here again tonight. Also the staff are wonderful. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Booked this hotel for an overnight stay for my cousins wedding in Kilkenny. I arrived early, as I only live in Cork, not expecting to get into my room but the receptionist checked to see if my room was ready and as it was allowed me access. This meant I could relax and get ready for the wedding in comfort. Next morning the breakfast staff were welcoming, attentive and friendly. After checkout the receptionist allowed me to leave my car in the car park while I did my messages and said goodbye to family. I agree with most that hotel could do with updating but it has charm and the staff were exceptional. Thank you

Stayed for one night in August, hotel is in a great location but is in need of a makeover, breakfast was nice and staff were friendly,I reckon there are nicer hotels for the same price, although maybe some people like the quirkiness of an old style hotel if they do then this hotel is for them

The Club House is a rock solid reliable hotel in an fantastic location however, we go in there every year in August to visit the Art exhibitions during Arts Week and it has never once been updated or refreshed in any way. That's in about 15 years now. The interior is in such a bad need of a refresh. It's old, dated, faded and squeaky floor boards every where. Has such great potential if the investment was put in to it. We will continue to visit each August regardless to see the amazing works of the resident artist Tony Oakey. This is who brings us back each year. Now there's an artist whose works could bring the life back to the dull and worn walls of the Club House Hotel with his vibrant colours in each lively painting.
