My sister and I along with my twin boys aged 9 spent a lovely weekend at the Hotel Kilkenny on the weekend of October 15th. The rooms are large and spacious and very comfortable. The pool area is fab.Love the decor.Amazing jacuzzi. Food in the restaurant is delicious.James went above and beyond for us.An exceptional member of staff. Lovely atmosphere throughout the hotel. We will definitely be back.

We stayed for one night with our two children. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist at the front desk and our rooms were ready for us even though we were early. I run a cleaning company so I am always on duty! I have to say that the hotel was lovely and clean. The accommodation staff had done a lovely job on our room and the halls were lovely and clean. We had a swim in the leisure center and again it was clean and modern. The staff were very nice. Towels (like everywhere we go) were horrible, over used tea towels. We had a drink in the bar. Again clean and staff were nice. The restaurant was disappointing. It was clean the staff were lovely and attentive and the food was very nice (the Eaton Mess was to die for as was the Brownie) but the décor wasn't that of a luxury 4 star restaurant. The chairs were not what you would expect and there was no ambiance. Harsh lights and no music. We had a lovely sleep in very comfortable beds and the breakfast was very plentiful and tasty. I would defiantly stay again and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Overpriced for what it is. Paid €200 for a double room. Room and leisure facilities were nice enough. Check in experience, breakfast didn't feel very welcoming. Customer service sorely lacking. Food in the bar was fine and quite tasty but again overpriced for the quality delivered. Wouldn't stay again.

Staff were amazing - friendly, professional and helpful. Leisure centre lovely. But, given that a two night stay was nearly 500, accommodation left a lot to be desired. Only two sockets, which were at the dresser, none beside bed; rubbish hairdryer, iron strapped to ironing board, in bath showe with no hose, overall a pretty shabby room. Definitely not 4 star. Cheese at breakfast was pre-packaged (covid not a good enough excuse) Very poor value for money. I didn't complain to the staff, they've enough on their plate. This is purely the fault of the owners. Would not recommend.

My mum and I booked to stay for a few days as a treat during a difficulty period. We were delighted to find out upon checking in that we had been upgraded - unfortunately this meant there was no bath. This was disappointing as we both look forward to this when stay in a hotel. The staff very kindly moved us to a room with a bath (a downgrade) and this room was not 4* quality. The room looked like it belonged in a different hotel - the staff then kindly relocated back to a shower room on our second night. They were so accommodating but I felt it was a lot of unnecessary moving around to find a suitable room for the price we were paying. We ate in the hotel bar on our first night and unfortunately it was disappointing - limited menu (the food was tasty) and zero atmosphere. The seats were also uncomfortable and difficult to eat at the table with. We went to the bar to listen to live music two nights but again the atmosphere was lacking - lights on full beam and not what I would expect from a 4* hotel. I cannot fault any of the staff at the hotel - 10/10 for their customer service, professionalism and friendliness. Every member of staff we spoke to from the reception staff, waiting staff and domestic staff were a credit to the hotel. Unfortunately based on the above I wouldnt stay at the hotel in the future.
