Me and 3 friends stayed here for the new years period. We had an amazing stay and are so sad to leave. The beds are comfortable and the power showers are nice and hot. The ‘full Irish’ breakfast is phenomenal! Local pubs, restaurants and shops are very close with lots to choose from. Overall had a brilliant stay with everything I could ask for. Would defiantly come back and I highly recommend you come here too.
We stayed in Launard House when we visited kilkenny for the Savour Food festival. Our room was perfectly appointed, warm and cosy. I loved how homely it was, you felt immediately comfortable. It's such a quick stroll into the city, which was handy when you want to have a few drinks-kilkenny has plenty of amazing pubs! we ordered our breakfast for 9am the next morning, it was piping hot and so yummy. They had no problem feeding a fussy vegetarian. To top it all off, we both agreed that the highlight is the owner, David. He is an absolutely amazing host and had us in stitches. We can't wait to stay again soon.
Room was comfy and clean. WIFI kept cutting out and they seem to have a problem with the electricity. Hair dryer wouldn't work after a shower as the power kept going out. Not very convenient in that respect. Breakfast was excellent and variety of choices good too.
We really enjoyed our stay here and regret we did not stay longer. The owner was very friendly, helpful and just an all-round good guy to hang out with. The breakfast is planned out the night prior but cooked fresh in the morning (delicious). He has a menu option to choose from (pancakes, Irish breakfast and porridge to name a few). Room was clean and very comfortable. Great shower. Just an great experience really. It is about a 15 minute walk to the main part of town so I recommend driving... or the owner has placed a metal tag on each key ring with the number to the local taxi service (very thoughtful). I want to return.
One night stay recently. First impressions were not good. There were cobwebs around the front door & the outside could do with a tidy up. Our room was awful, a small double. The sink was in the room itself whilst the shower (which was not working, it kept going off and on) and toilet were in the ensuite. One of the sockets was not secured properly onto the wall. The carpet was stained. The room was below standard & it just felt dirty. The breakfast was fine & the dining room was clean. Would not recommend & will not return.
