Absolutely beautiful place! The home was immaculate the hosts were welcoming and attentive. There was a beautiful garden/lawn area outside to enjoy the lovely garden. Breakfast consisted of both a serve yourself for fruits, pastries, rolls, cheeses, cereals, yogurts, etc. But in addition to those lovely choices, our beautiful hostess also took an order for a hot, made-to-order breakfast. Everything about our stay was lovely. I highly recommend!

I'm not usually one for writing reviews, but we had such a lovely stay with Mary and John at Friars Glen. We were down in Killarney for a wedding and this stunning B&B was just a few minutes walk away. From the moment we stepped through the door and were greeted by a welcoming handshake and good caht with John, we felt like we were home. a gorgeously kept, spacious bedroom was waiting for us after our journey and then we were able to go and relax in the sitting room with a glass of wine in front of the roaring fire. In the morning we got to meet the amazing Mary, who cooked us up a storm and filled us in on the history of the property and just gave us a great chat. We got to enjoy views of the mountains beyond and the deer roaming freely from the cosy breakfast area. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. You won't be disappointed staying here. Enjoy.

My wife and I have visited Ireland twice now and stayed at Friars Glen both times. I can without a doubt say that staying at Friars Glen has been one of the best places we’ve stayed in our travels. The hosts, Mary and John, are some of the nicest and most helpful people. Always willing to help with anything you might need and very thoughtful. The bedrooms are very spacious with great beds. The sitting is great to have a good read and a cup of tea. The highlight here is the dining area where breakfast is served. Not only do you get one of the best breakfasts in Ireland but also an amazing view of the well maintained garden and forest (usually complete with Deer!). I’d recommend Friars Glen to anyone going through Killarney, it’s one of the best! Will definitely be back again on our next trip!

The hospitality extended to us by Mary and John was exemplary. The room was spacious, super clean and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The grounds are stunning. Mary and John went out of their way to ensure our stay was memorable. Meeting Roma was the icing on the cake. You will enjoy your stay here.

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending 2 nights at Friar’s Glen this past May. Everything from the ground, to the house, to the breakfast area, and to our room, was beautiful and spotless. Each morning, we enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast spread that included fresh juices, homemade pastries, mini charcuterie boards, and a la carte specials. Mary and John were wonderful hosts who took great pride in providing their guests with top-notch experiences. Thank you both for your warm hospitality.

The best accommodations of our 14 day trip. Rooms were clean and spacious. Accommodations are outside of town which was very peaceful and away from congestion of Killarney. Mary and John were wonderful hosts. The best breakfasts of our entire trip. We were excited to see choices such as bagels and crepes after many Irish breakfasts.

The best B&B ever! This is the best European B&B we ever stayed in. And certainly the best of this 13 day trip to Ireland. Mary and John are gracious hosts. The rooms are spacious, beds are super comfy, 2 comfy upholstered chairs to enjoy in our room, plenty of hot water for the bath, fridge for guests, ice machine, and yummy breakfast choices. The property is a few miles outside of Killarney, in a wooded area, providing a much needed respite from our long days. Beautiful gardens and patio to sit and drink afternoon tea. Tea and coffee provided any time of day. Mary is full of great suggestions, patiently answered our questions and made some reservations for us. 6 nights, our first stop and it was the best!

Absolutely wonderful. Here are the biggest pluses about Friars Glen: 1. Huge Rooms—I stayed in Room 10 with my mother and sister and it had 1 double and 2 single beds and was very comfortable and spacious. 2. Great Bathrooms—very spacious shower/tub with HOT water and STRONG water pressure. 3. Breakfast—great cold selection of breads, cereal, yogurt, fruit, in addition to a hot menu of crepes, eggs, bacon, porridge, etc. The food was excellent and kept me going through long walks through the park. They do have an ice machine and a mini fridge for guests to use. 4. Setting and Solitude—the inn is very quiet and tranquil and the grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. Gorgeous setting. There is an outside patio and a sitting room with a fireplace, both great areas for socializing. 5. Mary, John, and Roma. The owners are absolutely wonderful and their two year old Golden is sweet. Seriously, they are the best. 6. Rates—I thought the nightly rate was reasonable, although it was admittedly not sure the summer high season. The only drawback was that it was a little too far to walk into town, or at least it was because of the very narrow roads without a shoulder. A taxi was about 13€. But you wouldn’t have the peaceful setting without a trade off!

This is a beautiful, impeccable, elegant yet comfortable house, surrounded by lovely gardens. Provided are all the amenities you would want or need - parking, Wi-Fi, huge sitting room with fireplace, delicious breakfasts in the beautiful sunroom, luxurious linens and towels, etc. Our room was large and comfortable with pretty drapes and upholstery on the comfortable chairs. The attention to detail was superb. John and Mary were the perfect hosts, providing information about the area and friendly, welcoming conversation. This is our fifth trip to Ireland, and we can say this is the best B&B we have stayed in.
