This place was wonderful. Granted, its a huge hotel with seemingly endless corridors but that does not lessen its appeal. The bar/seating areas are very grand, I could sit around all day drinking tea looking out at the castle. The staff were decked out very professionally and everyone was very friendly. Bar food was cheap and cheerful and breakfast was good. Our deluxe room was worth every penny - the view from the balcony spotting deer, the massive bed, the huge room, the mock fireplace, robes, jacuzzi bath - I didn't want to leave. My sole regret is that we only booked one night!
My wife and I stayed here recently and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The view from our room was out of this world . One could have been anywhere in the world . The staff in the hotel went out of there way to please. The food was very very good . The adherence to Covid was beyond reproach. Everyone wore a mask when indoors. Of course the weather was fantastic and played a big part in making the weekend a memorable one . We will definitely be back.
We had a lovely stay at the Lake Hotel for my birthday last week. We had a beautiful deluxe Lakeside room with balcony overlooking the lake. It was beautiful and so relaxing. It certainly helped us to destress and relax in the stunning scenery and comfort of our room. My daughters had organized a bottle of bubbly for my birthday and the hotel left a card , chocolates and print of deer in Killarney on the bed which was a lovely touch! I will definitely be back!
I was told that when you swim in the ocean your troubles leave you for that time and you are just happy in the moment.... That's how I felt in The Lake Hotel....historic family hotel...Beautiful nostalgia combined with top class food and superior service...was blown away and can't wait to return.... THANK YOU
We stay at this hotel on a regular basis and for good reason, the location is breathtaking on the shores of the beautiful Lough Lein in Killarney National Park surrounded by wildlife including the famous Irish Red Deer and Giant Sea Eagles. The deer breeding season takes place in September /October and the hotel has a healthy population of wild deer on its ground with stags roaring, it adds to the magic of the location. The staff are always willing to go the extra mile for guests and always friendly. If you are visiting Co Kerry this hotel is a must stay!
