I would not recommend to eat outside the bar as diner after 5pm is highly overpriced for a buffet diner! €32 for main and dessert is a total joke! And I would advise the hotel to make sure rooms are ready before handing the keys as our room was still being cleaned when we got to it and not a gesture was done while we were waiting (we checked in around 2:30pm, after the check in time that is 2pm)

Dear Mairin, Thank you for taking the time to post your review. All customer feedback is of great importance to us. We are delighted to be re-opened and welcoming guests through our doors once again after such a long closure. May I firstly offer by sincerest apologies for the miscommunication at check in for which I can assure you is not the norm, but human error sometimes occurs. As local restaurants & bars continue to remain closed and due to losses in seating capacity a buffet is the only solution for us to insure that we can cater for the higher than normal customer demand for beverages and dining. While we acknowledge the buffet offering is not to every guests’ taste, please note, in more normal times, we offer a full served menu but this is not a feasible solution to facilitate all of our guests at the moment. Once bars & restaurants reopen in July, we envisage the demand to normalise and revert back to normal service for our much valued guests at Randles. Your feedback is important to us as it gives us the opportunity to continually improve our service. If you would like to personally contact me at tom@randleshotels.com I would happy to discuss the matter with you further. Regards, Tom Randles

Restaurant food was horrible, we were not told it was a buffet and it was not explained very well, we were sat there looking like idiots after ordering the starter and not being told the main was a buffet and we met others who were not very happy either! When checking out we said it to the front desk and they said “your not the first to complain and you won’t be the last” which doesn’t sound great. When we went into our room it was a bit on the small side, dark & stuffy! The table was chipped and it was stained with ring’s from glasses, the headboard was flimsy aswel as the chair! We saw the tv had Netflix & YouTube and we were delighted only to find out the WiFi didn’t work and the service on our phones was shocking so couldn’t even hotspot. The pints of Heineken were also very flat didn’t enjoy them at all and when we went to order another drink the bar man said the bar was closed only to find out another table had been served 10 mins after us. The bar food was nice and bar staff taking our orders were great but other than that the overall experience wasn’t to our liking.

Dear kurnmangan, Let me firstly thank you for taking the time to write to us about your recent experience. It is only with feedback like yours that we can learn and improve ourselves. I was very disappointed to read that you did not have an enjoyable stay and please accept my most sincere apologies. We take all feedback seriously and I assure you we will be making sure that the communication issues you encountered does not happen again in the future, As local restaurants & bars remain closed and due to losses in seating capacity a buffet is the only solution for us to insure that we can cater for the higher than normal customer demand for beverages and dining. Normally we offer a full served menu but this is not a feasible solution to facilitate all of our guest. Once bars & restaurants reopen we envisage the demand to normalise and revert back to normal service. I apologize for the inconvenience with the WiFi, this is a service that normally runs very well and we are investigating this Again I would genuinely like to thank you for your feedback and please contact me personally if you return to stay with us. Regards, Tom Randles

+1
We enjoyed a great 2-night stay at Randles recently. The staff were excellent especially the reception team, bubbly and very welcoming. We took a hiking trip and climbed Carrauntoohil, and then took the advice from the lady at the front desk and hired bikes taking the cycle route to Torc Waterfall. Great service around the current restrictions, maintaining a relaxing atmosphere whilst professionally keeping all guests safe. Super location for short walks to Killarney, the pool was an added bonus and whiskey on your porridge will keep you warm! We were very happy with our stay and the service and plan to return next year for a longer stay, highly recommend, thanks folks keep up the great work you made our stay a memorable one.
