Arrived at the train station and took a taxi to The Clayton. Costs about 10 Euros. About a 15 minute ride from train station to hotel. Not much to do at hotel, but in a nice area. There is a KFC across the street, but not much else. Got to the hotel about 11:30 am. Room was not ready so...

Beautiful room, very comfortable bed, very clean bathroom, staff very pleasant, and food in the Restaurant, breakfast and dinner was very tasty and well presented. Hotel beside Galway Race course and only 5 minutes from Galway city, also good base for going into the Burren or into Connemara

You are removed from the atmosphere which draws you to Galway in the first place, taxi is needed to get to centre of the city. Food in the Restaurant was dissapointing, and you do feel like you are eating in the breakfast room rather than a restaurant. Staff were lovely and the rooms, though basic were comfortable and clean

Dear shiversWestmeath, Thank you for sharing your feedback in light of your recent stay in the Clayton Hotel. I appreciate all the comments I get from our guests as I believe it can often help us become better at what we do. Thankfully I don't think your view of the food in the restaurant is typical but all the same...

If you want a restful stay then dont stay in the Clayton Hotel. There was obviously a function on when we stayed in the hotel on Sat 30th Aug. The noise from the rvellers was incredible both inside and outside the hotel, going on to 4am Add the continual coming and going of cars and buses and it was like...

Dear kenneth s, Thank you for the review of your recent stay in the Clayton Hotel. I'm sorry your stay wasn't as restful as you had anticipated. Usually we manage the allocation of rooms so that people not directly involved in a particular event aren't accommodated over the ballroom but in this instance we obviously got that wrong. The attendance...

The rooms were a good size, clean and with great amenities at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Beds were very comfortalbe. It was a short drive to the Galway City Centre and we drove it during the day and a night took a cab (about 15 EUR each way with tip). Restaurant had decent food,...

This hotel would not be my first choice if I was to go back to Galway. The room we stayed in faced the road and the noise from the traffic was very bad. The toilet in the room did not flush and when I said it to the staff I was told the duty manager would fix it which was...

I was a bit apprehensive before our arrival, due to the mixed reviews, but it just goes to show that sometimes you have to really stay somewhere to see what it is really like. We had no problems finding the hotel. The room was fresh, spotless with a wonderfully comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. When we arrived, our friends...

First time staying here....certainly not the last. Great rooms(fortunate to get adjoining rooms) which was great ... loved the shower in the single room. Food and service were excellent. Free wifi in the room another plus. We also enjoyed a trip to the Cliffs of Moher (another plus of the 3 day package we were on).

Excellent hotel. Fabulous large family room with two very large double beds and loads of space. Beds are so comfortable. Rooms modern and spotless as is the bathroom. Great choice for breakfast and food so so good. This was my second time staying here and it is just as good as I remembered it three years ago. Would highly recommend.
