I would highly recommend the Periwinkle to friends and family without reservation. 10 minutes walk along the Claddagh, looking out Galway bay into the Atlantic, to Galway city centre, it is excellently located in a quiet neighbourhood. The rooms have excellent facilities and are very comfortable. The real attraction is Joan, the hostess. What she doesn't know about Galway isn't...

After reading the great reviews of Joan O'Dea's Periwinkle B&B I decided to book for our stay in Galway. Joan was a wonderful host - warm and accomodating from the start. We had been traveling for nearly 24 hours when we arrived and she brewed us a lovely pot of coffee to keep us awake so we would not be...

Arrrived in Ireland on Holiday and missed our boat to the Aran Islands, Planned to stay at the Periwinkle latter in our vacation so we contacted Joan to see if she had any rooms available. She did not ,but took the time to locate another fine B&B. She then drove into town found us and brought us back to her...

Our July 2-7 Periwinkle, Galway stay was quite wonderful. Joan O'Dee really enhanced our stay . We booked the room from the States, prior to arriving and confirmed it with a followup call from the Dublin area.On our arrival, Joan showed us to a charming, second story room that was quiet and peaceful. She was warm, friendly and full of...

The star attraction is the owner Joan, who went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable, booking our sightseeing reservations and chatting with us about what to see and do in Galway. Our room was cheerful and bright, and we were served a gourmet breakfast daily. The Periwinkle is in a lovely, quiet area about a 10 minute...

The Periwinkle was charming and a perfect location for us. We walked into Galway every day along the Bay. Joan was gracious and booked our excursions for us and even arranged for the tour bus to pick us up by her house. We had such a wonderful time that we decided to stay and extra day. Unfortunately Joan was booked...

The Periwinkle is in a prime location for walks into Galway city center and Salthill, or just a walk along the bay. Your hostess, Joan, is attentive to guests and easy with information about all the amenities that Galway offers. This attention to her guests also carries over to the interior of her breakfast room and the appearance of her...

We stayed with Joan for 2 nights this June. Location is perfect, 10 mins walk from both Salthill and the city centre. Service was fantastic, Joan went out of her way to help us, including booking our trip to the Aran islands and driving us into town on the Friday night. The room was lovely and a breakfast to die...
