The g is s hangover from Ireland worst excess of the Celtic tiger, not sure who owns the property now but the Philip Tracey interiors are a bit dated now. The place needs a refurb. We stayed in the rear facing rooms which was large but we had a view of a Lidl. The other side of the corridor the rooms have a view over the bay. The breakfast we had on the first day wasn’t too bad but the next day we were giving pastries which looked like they had been lying out all night. The staff were reasonably friendly but like most hospitality in Ireland at the moment the industry is in crisis due to people leaving the industry due to the lockdown. Hugely disappointed with Galway overall, very dilapidated and run down.

We had a huge suite with a living, dining, and sleeping area with a bathroom and a powder room. The beds and linens were wonderful. It was quiet. Our room had sweets, champagne, and pastries for us to enjoy. The staff were lovely. They drove us into town so we could walk around. We noticed the bathroom had only one hook on the door and no place near the double shower to hang a towel or a robe. The rooms had a unique decor as did the entire hotel. I’m not sure why it was rated as a five star. I would give it a three.

We recently stayed here and would highly recommend it. Our room was amazing, the bed was so comfortable and such soft pillows! Great nights sleep. The food in Gigi’s restaurant was delicious. The cocktails are also a must! The Staff were every friendly and welcoming. The spa was excellent and we cannot wait to go back.

Excellent standard of accommodation as you would expect from a 5 star rated hotel. But also excellent value for money as well. Be aware that it’s a little ways out of town but we availed of the hotel car service for drop off and pick up and it worked out pretty good. Also be aware that the breakfast time needs to be reserved as the space is relatively small and it’s a waiter service and not a buffet. That’s with breakfast as part of the deal. So overall, top service and excellent value and we were all wishing that we should have booked more nights here.

My wife and I came to Falway for a leg of our Ireland trip and stayed here at the g. This place is beautiful, fun, funky and an all around pleasure. From the valet, to check, to the amazing room where the entire wall is windows overlooking the water, to the service and on and on. The various lounges are beautiful and well done. Our room was impressive with a massive bathroom And a remote control To watch tv in the bath tub (if you want to). We were given a free ride downtown in a BMW 7 series at no charge. Went to get breakfast to take up to the room and when she saw I couldn’t carry it all she offered to help. It’s the little things. And Kate at the reception desk……OMG an absolute jewel and asset to the g. She brought our car around for us, told us how to get to where we’re going and park, dialed us in to the restaurants and nailed it! She made our stay (as well as the other employees) Could NOT be happier.

We had our honeymoon in the so called 5 star hotel and to say it was a disappointment is an understatement.the room that we booked was no more than a 3 star hotel room the tv did not work and it was tiny, the bathroom shower screen was hanging off the wall and our view was a big woodies sign. When we went downstairs we were stopped every time by staff asking were we staying in the hotel as the lounge area is just for people staying. All the walls and lifts were filthy. If you are thinking about staying in the G hotel I would reconsider as there is far better 4 star hotels in Galway for half of the price

Dance club starts thumping at 10 pm and goes to 2:00 am. What hotel starts pounding the music so loud you can’t sleep until the music stops at 2:00. Our window glass is vibrating it’s so loud. This is an upper class hotel charging 450 euros. This is crazy Don’t stay here!

Dear Donald S, Thank you for joining us at The g Hotel recently. We are disappointed that the Wedding in the Hotel affected your night sleep. We are generally quite careful with allocating guests attending events in the Hotel away from the Event Suite. Our apologies that we have missed this opportunity with you. Please do reach out to me should you be returning to Galway and The g Hotel in the future and I will assure yo all care will be taken. Best regards, Martin Howley Hotel Manager mhowley@theghotel.ie

Was in here for food and few drinks with one of my friends. We where greeted by a host and brought to our table and told the specials. We asked the lovely waitress Lauren to taste some wine and she brought down sam who was so helpful and let us sample the wine was Lovely. We had only one down fall which was our food was burnt. Lauren was so kind and helpful and brought it back to the kitchen and got us fresh food. Nothing was too much for Lauren she helped us with everything we needed and she was full of conversation with us. We sat in a lovely room and everything else was just lovely. But Lauren and Sam made the service a 5 star experience. Would definitely come again.
