Stayed here for two nights recently whilst on a trip to the West of Ireland. Initially we were surprised as the hotel doesn’t stand out within its environment as we might have expected. However, following this initial doubt we were thoroughly impressed with all aspects of the hotel. The staff - many of whom were young - were especially friendly and helpful with nothing too much trouble.. We dined one night in the hotel which was outstanding in all aspects leaving nothing to question. Breakfast was excellent too in an unrushed environment. Both evenings featured live lounge music which was entertaining in very comfortable surroundings. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk to the city centre. This walk is nothing special or scenic but provides an opportunity to walk off the excesses we enjoyed. A free shuttle is provided by the hotel for those who would not wish to walk. All in all an excellent stay. We certainly hope to return.

Organised a celebration dinner for a friend's birthday and WOW what AMAZING staff!! We had dinner in the lounge, the waitstaff was fantastic and paid great attention to us, especially our lovely waitress Luca! Her cocktail suggestions were spot on, so compliments to the bar staff too! The food was very nice, we had an all-round good experience dining here.

First the pros: The room was large, clean and the bathroom was clean with good water pressure. The bowl sinks look nice, but are impractical for a hotel. The lobby and entry are nicely decorated, as are the bar and dining room. I had no interaction with the staff at the desk. Now the reasons for the low rating: -The hotel has obviously been refurbished. I don’t know if it was a cost-saving measure or a weird design choice, but the hallways are dark purple with decor that gives off a circus sideshow vibe. It didn’t match the rest of the decor in the hotel and made what was otherwise lovely seem dark, creepy and cheap. It also didn’t help with finding our way in the maze of hallways. -We were a large party of 20+ people in the dining room, enjoying each other’s company. There were a few other diners in the room which is very large with a high ceiling. We were laughing, talking and having fun like a large party celebrating a life event would do. Unbelievably, we were shushed. Who hasn’t been to a restaurant where people were having fun? Other than very raucous, drunken or rude behavior, you laugh along with them. It’s expected. Not at The G. -After dinner, we visited the bar. One of the bartenders was doing all of the work while the others socialized. It was impossible to get their attention. -Fast forward to breakfast, which was included in our package. Service was ridiculously slow and we were treated in the most condescending manner possible by our waiter. The combination of condescension with facial piercings and ear gauges was entertaining. I’m not against those things, they are just not synonymous with snootiness. The breakfast was served, the order was wrong and the omelette was swimming in grease. They offered to make a new one, but I didn’t have another hour to waste waiting for a omelette that was sitting in a literal pool of grease. Although the rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable, nothing else about this place is acceptable. I would avoid staying here again and I would absolutely not stay here with a group.

My boyfriend and I during the week made a last minute decision to go to Galway and stay in the G hotel, for our room (Luxury Room Super King) it was 415€. I'd advise against booking this kind of room as it seems the cheaper Deluxe Lake View room would be much better value plus you'd get a far better view than the Lidl carpark. We have no real complaints about the room as it was quite spaciosu and extremely clean. My only complaint would be that the heating doesn't seem to work so the room was fairly chilly for the night. My boyfriend and I decided while we were getting ready for going out to dinner to order up room service for drinks. I have no complaints against the cocktail I got however 8€ service tray charge for a couple of drinks is ridiculous. I've been to plenty of hotels that offer a beverage tray charge and food tray charge which is far more reasonable of an ask. I even work in a 5* hotel that offers that. I must applaud the room service however as it was so speedy. The bar is a complete and utter let down. To no fault of the bartenders on duty at the time but neither of them were fully aware of what their bar had. My boyfriend asked if we could have an Amaretto Sour as on the drinks menu under Liqueurs we'd seen there was Disaronno. He was then asked by the bartender what Disaranno was which he didn't mind telling him, but then the young man asked if my boyfriend could see it in the bar himself. A joke in my opinion as he never even checked properly himself nor asked a colleague as he's clearly new. Later again we asked for another drink and were asked if it was on the menu by the bartenders to which we replied no, the bartender looked uncomfortable and nervous and said it was too busy so he couldn't make it. We were one of two other tables of 2. We decided to just choose from the menu as it was very clear that they wouldn't deviate from their menu what so ever. Once we got our drinks I was floored upon seeing my boyfriend's Pornstar Martini. The usual garnish for this drink is a slice of passionfruit, instead by boyfriend had an entire passionfruit with a small sliced off the top as his garnish. Out of curiousity we took the passionfruit out for a moment and noticed how little there actual was in the drink thanks to there being a whole passionfruit in there, what a complete and utter scam. My complaints are nothing to do with the barstaff but to do with lack of management and training. Those two lads were really trying and I know it's not their fault as they both informed us they were only new. Management were nowhere in sight for either of them to run around and ask for advice or help which is a complete and utter joke. Breakfast was okay but nothing out of this world. Overall disappointed, we paid 415€ expecting a 5* Hotel and we were met by a 3* standard at best. Wouldn't recommend staying here whatsoever, keep your money and stay somewhere more affordable and somewhere with a decent bar as clearly the standards for this beautiful hotel have dropped significantly.

My partner treated me to this package for my birthday, room was spacious and clean and lovely the only downful ot was freezing and the heat wouldn't work. We then headed down to the bar for a cocktail before our 3 course meal in GiGi's. We were 20 mins waiting for our cocktail which puts a dampner on an experience we then proceeded to gigis for our meal. Extremely poor choice on the menu. We both went for the caeser salad, the lettuce was brown and gooey, there was 3 bacon lardons in the dish no chicken and croutons that u couldnt eat they were so over done. The main course we got was the lamb it was cooked nicely but nothing to write home about there were 4 baby potatoes for the two of us to share with our dinner the dessert then was the whitee chocolate mousse which in my opinion was far from a mousse it was sponge cake inwhich was far from fresh. We were so so disappointed with our meal. Also included in our package was the BMW chauffeur into the city when we went to book we were informed she would be gone.. why advertise and have in the package when it isnt going to be available to use or inform people of the times in the package it was misleading. The breakfast in the morning was minimal. I got the pancakes which was with mayple syrup there was a dribble of mayple syrup on them i asked for more of the waitress who never came back i asked again and never got it, my pancakes were cold the 4th time i asked i finally got it. I asked for a cup for my partner also had to ask three times. My partner got the omelette which was tiny and no bread, we asked for the toast..the omlette was gone by the time we got the toast. For the price we paid and what we got is beyond a joke. Your restaurant and staff in it let you down so bad the food is not by no means spectacular. There was one waiter in the restaurant on the night who was extremely attentive..if only the rest of the staff were the same. I am so disappointed with my G Hotel experience and just feel it was a waste of money. €445 euro id expect 5 star experience from start to finish.

The room was very nice and clean with very comfortable beds, myself and my partner had the newleaf package this included a pre-dinner cocktail, dinner at gigis restuarant and breakfast the following morning, we went to have a cocktail before dinner looked at the cocktail menu and asked for the cocktails to be told we could not have the ones we asked for and were told there was 3 to choose from the choices were very limited. after having cocktails we were not very happy with we went for dinner, again very limited choice on the menu and if you were up for the beef there was a 10 euro supplement very dissapointing, so i went for the fish special, the fish was very small and full of bones couldnt even eat it, my partner is vegetarian and there was also very limited options so went for the pasta (thought youcant go wrong there) but the butter sauce had a burned taste not very nice at all. we didnt even bother with the breakfast this morning we figured it wouldnt be worth the effort. would not recommend the newleaf package or the restuarant.

Beautiful hotel! Best shower, great pressure! And really really comfy beds! Breakfast was ok, long wait for food if you wanted eggs ( had better in Dublin) but pretty place. Further away from the city center than I would have liked, since we were walking at night but it was a tour and we were only there one night.

The G Hotel is a gem in Galway - and absolute MUST STAY! Hotel completely lives up to 5 star rating…a rarity in Ireland. The hospitality and service was top-notch from the first phone call through to checkout. All of the staff have clearly been trained to be as helpful and kind as possible, which is uncommon in these post-COVID days! Here is a listing of all the amenities! **Ample parking, with easy to follow directions for which spots were close to the entrance. **Friendly booking people, willing to help out - they bent over backwards trying to accommodate my wife, who does training, to see what the hotel could do to help and then suggested picking her up at the train station, rather than us asking. Then, when we were asking about breakfast times, the person at the desk suggested we just get it in our room, to enjoy the lovely room we had, because that’s what SHE would do (which was a great idea). **The desk staff were friendly EVERY TIME we stopped by, and were constantly asking what they could do to help. **The desk staff arranged bag pickup and personally showed us where the elevators were. **The style and decor of the hotel was very nice and intentionally held the same motif throughout. **We were given a free room upgrade. **The room was fantastic. The decor was great. Everything was perfect. **The flowers and rose-petal decoration that I ordered (extra cost) were really lovely. **The staff for breakfast and dinner was very good, the seating was unique with the booths, and the food presentation was excellent. The fact that a number of small food items were included in any meal really made for a nice experience - and could really be used to save a bit of money by ordering less of the menu! **The massage that my wife got was very good and the amenities in the spa were good. **When we checked out there was an error in the bill and the desk staff did not get annoyed or flustered (or try to convince us that it was correct, which often happens) and the error was quickly sorted out. Just a couple negatives: **The spa area looked like it hadn’t been maintained as much. Some things had to be turned on, or weren’t working as well as they could. **The food quality and food options were just average, unfortunately. Not bad, not great…just average. For all the presentation and extra little things and such that were there that were good, the actual food taste was just normal - which was odd. I was expecting unique tastes or very high flavour, given how everything was top-flight and it just didn’t deliver. Overall I was completely WOWED by the G Hotel. I don’t live in Galway, but I know that my wife and I will be working to figure out how we can get back there - just to stay at the hotel again….and I can’t think of too many hotels where I would say that!!
