A lovely b&b in a great location (5 min walk from Eyre Square) Paul and Amy are so friendly and welcoming, the rooms are absolutely spotless and very nicely decorated. Lots of great choices for breakfast and nothing is too much trouble if you want to alter the menu to your liking. We also got tea and homemade cake brought to our room as a treat, you don't get that in many b&bs! Definitely the right choice to stay here if you are visiting Galway, highly recommended!

Just had a lovely 2 night stay here and couldn't fault a thing. Throughout the staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. It has a lovely homely feel and the rooms and place are spotlessly clean. The room I had had everything needed and was clean, bright and modern. Tea, coffee and biscuits, hairdryer, TV, iron and ironing board, fan if needed, plenty of storage/hanging space, plugs all in useful areas. The en suite had a great powerful shower with toiletries provided and good quality towels. The bed was super comfy and good quality alongside the pillows...slept like a baby both nights.
Breakfast was great. Really tasty and especially the care and effort with even the display of the fruit and yogurt going that extra mile. Coffee was good quality and scrambled eggs were super tasty aswell as the warm scones . Really set me up well for the days.
The location is only a short walk into town but far enough out that you can get a great sleep without all the noise of main town. There is also parking available if you need it.
I really could not fault this place at all and taking everything into account it is the best B&B I have stayed at. Keep up the great work and thanks to all staff there who made it a great stay!

Petra House was a wonderful place to stay! Our room was very spacious and bright but could be a tad noisy since it faced the street. Good windows and heavy curtains helped quite a bit, though. The location is within walking distance to the busy parts of town, so everything was easily accessible. It’s a good home base for exploring the entire region. The hosts were very welcoming and personable, and the breakfasts were exceptional! Paul even helped with parking my car, since I was uncertain of my abilities this soon into our trip. I highly recommend this B&B!

From the welcome at the door to the excellent suggestions to the comfortable and convenient rooms and excellent breakfast, this B&B meets the highest expectations at a reasonable price. Paul and Amy Holland took over this B&B from the former owners in March 2021 and after a few months of lockdown opened up in June and have been booked ever since. It’s easy to see why! From the electric water heater to the China made in Galway, this couple attends to every detail and has every guest’s comfort and enjoyment in mind. I’ll go back!

We rate places we’ve stayed the way the hosts treat us and we’ve never felt so welcomed and made to feel like family anywhere else we’ve stayed either in Ireland or abroad because both Paul and Amy are amazing people and as far as hosts go no one comes close the way they look after their customers, their B&B is very affordable and is in a great location within walking distance to Galway city centre, the rooms are spotless, the beds are as comfy and the breakfast along with Amy’s homemade cakes and pastries are simply delicious. My wife and I have stayed, our family have stayed and we have friends from Canada and the U.S. who have stayed, we all got treated the same “like family”. Thank you Paul and Amy, until the next time.

We spent 2 nights at Petra House earlier this week. Paul and Amy were thoughtful, friendly and helpful hosts. Everything is very clean and set up to enhance your visit. Both went out of their way to help us beyond expectations. In the first two weeks of our Ireland trip Petra House was definitely the best B&B/lodge we stayed in.

I stayed here for 1 night and I have to say that Paul and Amy are 2 of the most welcoming people Ive ever met. On my arrival I was offered a slice of home made cake and a cup of tea which after a long journey sounds like heaven. My room was spotlessly clean, no noise to be heard from any other rooms and although my window faced onto the main road there was no disruption to my sleep at all. The bed was super comfy and I had the best nights sleep. Breakfast was on another level! The best fry I have ever had, fresh home cooked food served by the friendliest waitress. Paul made his way around all of the guests asking how they slept and if there was anything he could do for them. Customer service at the highest level! Honestly I cant write enough good things about this place. Thank you so much paul and amy for making my stay so enjoyable.

Lovely people run this spotless B&B which is a 10 minute walk to the main part of town. Paul gave us excellent recommendation Our room was small but had all the comforts and a very good bed. Breakfast was delicious! Take a look at their beautiful garden out back!

We had such a nice stay at Petra House B&B. The location couldn't be more perfect - a short walk down into the center - and Paul and Amy Holland are the nicest, most accommodating, helpful and just plain great people you'll ever hope to meet. Our room and bed were so comfortable, there's a nice chair to sit in and our room had a huge light-filled skylight in the bathroom. A great place that we highly recommend! Breakfast was also fabulous!

Teresa: We went from Petra House to the Inis Meain and took the bus from the Aran Islands Ferry Office. The walk without luggage is very easy, as you must pick up your tickets in advance so I have first-hand experience. If you are taking a day trip no bother, if you are taking your luggage get a cab.

Not sure what exactly you mean by “the double room “, however we stayed in early June for 100€ a night, two people single room. Also, I would keep trying to call. Frank and Joan are owner operators and are hands on with caring for the premises. I know they also close during slow periods. Well worth your time. This is a fantastic place to stay with wonderful hosts. Conveniently located with off street parking too.
There are more places to choose from in the Galway area.
