We are a family of 4 who have visited many hotels in Ireland and abroad focusing especially on hotels that offer Kids Clubs. We are currently guests at the Connaught Hotel and I just had to share this review.. From the minute we walked into the hotel the staff were so welcoming. It is amazing to see such a blend of groups from families to more senior couples enjoying themselves. Dinner was really fantastic. Daniel our server was 10/10. Nothing was too much hassle for him and he took great care of our kids. The food was fantastic and even our picky eaters finished their dinner! One of our kids visited kids camp and really enjoyed it. The room is comfortable and perfect for us. Other hotels in Ireland could do with taking lessons from this hotel in customer service and how to deal with kids! I have found that hotels in Ireland lack customer service/skills when it comes to kids but this hotel ticks all the boxes. Already looking forward to tomorrow and getting into their fab pool! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Nice hotel with a lot of rooms and can easily accommodate few full buses of tourist. Enough free parking space. Food, restaur everything OK. Pool area with two small saunas ok but a bit outdated. Overall rooms very clean and front desk staff super friendly. Location not central, but approximately 25-30 minutes walk to city center and all pedestrian streets.

Room could do with a good clean. The carpet was in an awful state. No laundry bag or bottled water. Shower was like something from the 80's . The service in the restaurant is deplorable. I would not recommend staying here.

Rather disappointed by this hotel. We visited with a group and the service at the restaurant was very poor. We were asked to sit with 12 people at a table suited for max 10.when we complained, we finally got assigned an extra table. Then had to ask for drinking glasses 3 times, after being told we had to go get them ourselves. Extra drinks had to be ordered at the bar and picked up ourselves. Didn't know it was self sevice (FYI, not a self service restaurant). Cleaning of the rooms was poor.Tables at the lobby were covered with dirty glasses and empty wrappings. Bar service however was very good. Food mediocre. Wouldn't recommand this place if not for the close location to Galway city. Very crowdy. Hotel service below standard.

We had a fantastic lunch upon arrival. We had a Thai beef salad and deep fried Brie, homemade brown bread and everything was so tasty. We even asked for the recipe for the Thai beef salad. The taste was beautiful and the quality of beef was excellent. We also had dinner in the restaurant. Rib eye steak and Seabass, both excellent and the service on both dining experiences were second to none. We will be back and I’d highly recommend it

Overall this is a good place to stay. Clean rooms, friendly and supportive service and really nice gym and pool facilities. The restaurant was decent but didn’t give my sister access to the breakfast service because she did not have a reservation. Also our kids’ room was very hot. We asked the next day to reduce the heat and they said they did but unfortunately they did not. Those r the two reasons we gave this a four star review instead of a five star one.
