The staff at the hotel are so friendly and obliging, we enjoyed interacting with them. This hotel is not a 4 star however, for a few reasons. The bedrooms are not well ventilated, we could not sleep it was so warm & the windows don’t open properly. The bathroom was clean & shower is functional but don’t expect a 4 star standard shower experience! Breakfast was pretty pricey for what it is, our orders were incorrect both mornings, the sausages under cooked & bread not properly toasted. The pool and sauna are advertised as a spa, I can’t agree with this description, it’s very basic. Great location & staff but manage your expectations in terms of the 4 star label.

We spent last weekend here to celebrate a family birthday. There were 22 of us in total. The ladies on check in were really nice and friendly and efficient. In fact all the staff were very friendly throughout the entire weekend although most were quite young and at dinner service you could see their inexperience, bringing wrong meals etc but it did not detract at all from the meal and the food is absolutely first class. The only fault I can find was with the bar staff on Friday and Saturday night who I felt could have been nicer whilst still adhering to the government regulations in regard to covid 19 indoor drinking. There is no point in calling last orders at 11.00 p.m and not allowing people time to finish their drink before herding them from the bar. I use the term in its proper context as it felt that we were like cattle being moved! Nevertheless we all had a wonderful weekend and the Galway Bay Hotel is a lovely family friendly hotel in a fab location and I would stay again. Hopefully in the near future without the constraints of Covid.

Just back from a 2 night stay at this hotel. We had a wonderful experience here. Staff really are a credit to this hotel, they made us feel so welcomed. We dined in the hotel both nights, dinner was top class as was the service we received from James our waiter on both nights. We were delighted to be given a sea view table on both nights, views are amazing. Hotel is ideally located directly across from the sea, beautiful views, great for walks along the Salthill promenade and a 30 minute walk to Galway City Center. It was lovely to park the car up for 2 days and have everything within walking distance.

I’m just back from a stay at your hotel and I felt I had to write to you to express my thanks. This was my 3rd time to stay in the Galway Bay and it was just fabulous being back. I have to compliment you on your staff. Every staff member we met were so friendly and helpful to both myself and my elderly mother. They couldn’t do enough for us. If they caught your eye they were over to check we were ok and had everything that we needed. They spent some time chatting and talking but also remained professional and courteous. I must single out James, Emma,Niall, Eilish and Bridie who were particularly nice and helpful! The tidiness and turnout of the staff uniforms were exemplary. It was great to be able to eat out in such pleasant and welcoming surroundings! So once again ‘thank you’ to you and your staff, we hope to see you again soon! Kind regards Carol Duffy
