Travelers' Choice
The Nest Boutique Hostel is an alternative accommodation concept which blurs the lines between a hotel, guesthouse and a hostel by offering quality accommodation with unique social spaces, attention to detail, an individual touch and a strong emphasis on the local community and the environment. We are situated in the beautiful seaside village of Salthill, just 2 minutes walk to the beach and within 5 minutes of a handful of pubs and restaurants. We are also only a 15-20 minute walk into the bustling city centre of Galway, or a 10 minute bus ride. The Nest offers a majority of double and twin ensuite rooms which have comfy beds, mini fridges, soft linen, power showers and contemporary Irish art work. Family bedrooms are available which contain a double and twin room connected by a private bathroom or two double rooms connected by a bathroom. For groups or individuals, there are six and seven bed dorms which are ensuite and one dorm with shared bathroom. We offer a delicious continental breakfast every morning, consisting of fresh bread, a pastry, , cheese, fruit, yogurts, granola and tea/french press coffee for a small extra charge. Guests arriving by vehicle have access to free parking (5 spaces on site, and free street parking surrounding the hostel).

The Nest Boutique Hostel was fantastic! There was a sense of community but also privacy. My husband and I had a private room and it was so cozy and comfortable. The cafe downstairs was delicious and definitely a highlight!

This Hostel offered us just what was promised: a cozy and welcoming 'nest'. With a full cafe, delicious cappuccinos, hearty breakfasts, game room, hip but woodsy lounge area, laundry, friendly staff, and really hip decor, we'd come back in a minute. The location in upper Salt Hill is perfect for a stroll to the Atlantic coast and dotting of cafes and coffee shops. Ten Stars!

pros: - good location in Salthill - safe and free parking - no tv in room - eco way of thinking - free water, tea and coffee between 7-11 - fridge in room cons: - would benefit from soft door closures on communal doors as these bang throughout the night when people are coming back late our room was close to the lift so was quite noisy - would benefit from black-out blinds instead of curtains that let in a lot of light around the edges - there is quite high traffic noise from the promenade throughout the night - the pear tree menu is small (which is good as it reduces wastage) but there were several spelling mistakes suggesting a lack of attention to detail - mould around windows overall we like the ethos and what they are trying to achieve but we wouldn’t say it was value for money and a bit too noisy for us

Hi 186349Sjw21, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, we always appreciate feedback, good and bad and I'm glad to see thing list of things you appreciated with our hostel. I have passed on your comments about the soft close doors to our Maintenance team, as over time the soft close mechanisms can alter and need to be adjusted, so we will certainly give those a double check. Thank you for bringing the issue with this window to our attention with the 3 very large close up photos you posted, hopefully this is not the main thing you took from your stay here. The west of Ireland is a very humid place and unfortunately in all buildings it is a constant battle against the moisture, which we deal with the best we can. I will however send our Maintenance team to check the best course of action for this window in that room. As for value for money, Galway is a very expensive city to stay during the summer and the rates we set are always in the lowest 20% of the whole city, so unfortunately this is more a reflection of the high prices in the city rather than a specific problem with our rates. I hope you enjoyed your time in Galway, Kind Regards Sophie Wylde Operations Manager

Loved this place. Staff was great and accommodating (late check in). Parking was easy. They had lifts! The room was exactly how it was pictured, maybe better. Clean. Super comfortable beds. accessible outlets, mini fridge, desk. the shower was a bit confusing at first because the water didn't continuously run but was a push function, kinda like many sink faucets. only stayed one night but 1000% would book again.

Cozy and stylish hostel, situated just a little away from the center. First time I've seen floor towels in the hostel bathroom - amazing! There's ample parking space and a nice common room to chill and have coffee/tea.

Good experience, hostel gives a more premium vibe compared to most others. Sounding true to its name, Nest hostel gives a very cozy vibe. Main highlight for me was the continental breakfast which I highly recommend. Thanks to all the staff who work there and made it a pleasant experience!

Loved my stay at the Nest! My room had all the comforts of a hotel with the price and friendly atmosphere of a hostel. The common area was so cozy and the kitchen spacious, making it a perfect spot to unwind at the end of a day of sightseeing. The Salthill neighborhood of Galway is magical. I loved being steps from the Prom and the beach, and the main part of Galway could be reached by a pleasant 15-20 minute walk. Would definitely stay again!
