Lovely hotel at a good price. We went to a concert in the 3arena and found the walk to the gig very comfortable. The staff are very friendly. The room service operates all night which isn’t a guaranteed nowadays. The room was clean and had bottled water, rituals toiletries and coffee machine. The huge bonus for us was the on-site car parking so close to the city center. We will definitely stay positive in this hotel again.
This was my second stay. Stayed mid week with a friend in a twin room to attend concert in O2. The staff were exceptional. Reception printed a card and a free drink voucher for my friend as we were celebrating her birthday. The barstaff wished her a hapoy birthday when we explained our readon for visiting and tgey remembered us the next day. The residents bar staff and coffee dock were so sweet too. The room was small...but immaculate. The beds were comfy with plenty of pillows. Spotless bathroom with shampoo conditioner and shower gel in seperate bottles. The midweek price I got was really excellent value for money. Good central location for getting to most parts of Dublin. I shall return.
Room was big enough although two beds made it small. Toilette needed some fixing. People at reception do not speak proper English. Breakfast with basic stuff (not too much variety). Wi-Fi properly working. Position is good, close to canals, although you may need to walk like 20 mins for the centre
Our first time staying in this hotel. It’s well located with modern rooms. We booked well in advance so a got good room only rate. Downside would be reception/check in. I rang a few days earlier to confirm the booking and it was really difficult as the staff member didn’t seem to be that fluent. At check in we arrived at 1.15 pm (3pm check in). I’d emailed ahead asking for the early check in. I was told this would cost an extra €50! This was resolved but if the room is available, I think people should be facilitated.
Good standard of hotel for the cost, with helpful staff and a decent breakfast Rooms were clean , quiet and comfortable with all the amenities you need including plugs near mirrors for those straighteners! Good location too within walking distance of Molly Malone and Grafton street area
This hotel is the meeting point for the Vagabond Tours of Ireland. We stayed here for three nights prior to the start of the tour. The hotel is very nice with spacious clean rooms, friendly helpful staff and a great Irish breakfast each morning. The location is convenient to the center of the city. It’s a short taxi ride or about a 15 minute walk to Trinity College, Temple Bar and O’Connell street. It’s about a 40 minute taxi ride from the airport depending on the traffic. Dublin is a city that offers a lot and is worth exploring. Grand Canal Hotel is a great place to come back to after a full day of sightseeing. I highly recommend it.
We were in Dublin for the night to see Chicago. I looked for a medium priced hotel close to Bord Gais theatre. The Grand Canal Hotel was perfect in ever way. The reception staff were attentive and extremely helpful, the lobby restaurant for tea was great. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The gastropub for dinner was excellent. We had a great nights sleep and had the best breakfast buffet in a long time. Thank you, Joan O'Mahoney
Stayed here a few times, great rooms, top breakfast and friendly staff 10 minute walk from the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, we went to see the Osmond Musical, enjoyed it. Easy to park on site and free if you book direct. Jim Carrickfergus.
Nice, clean, well equiped room. We had sparkling water, coffee and tea in the room. It was possible to plug in USB to charge phones (we did not have the EU-UK adapters). Excellent breakfast buffet with full Irish breakfast. Irish pub just next to the hotel. We had a pleasant stay and would likely return.
Lovely spacious rooms. Helpful, friendly staff. Close to An Bórd Gáis Theatre, easily walked in 10 minutes. Lovely food. Highly recommend cauliflower wings. Breakfast lovely also. The hotel is a bit of an oasis where you can relax while the world races by.
