Popped in here with a friend for a few drinks in the afternoon. The barman was friendly. It is completely different in the afternoon. A bit grotty - but the gents toilet was so smelly. This place makes a fortune from tourists and you would think the owners would invest in upgrading the facilities - the smell problem has been... More

Good place to stay to see all the sites of Dublin. Very close to Museums, St Stephens Green and Grafton St shopping area. Staff were friendly and bar was old and traditional with a good atmosphere and great Irish music. We stayed in the hotels room for 2 nights. Rooms were basic but clean and tidy and were cleaned daily,... More

I stayed here in a room above the pub and absolutely loved it. It's a small room but very clean. It's a great break from chain hotels. The staff is friendly. Located in a great place. I was able to walk to a great number of interesting places. Also enjoyed the traditional Irish music in the pub. The hospitality of... More

Good traditional Irish bar, the interior still looks like it probably did when it was first build which all adds to its lovely Irish charm. O'Donoghue's is also listed on the Guinness factory tour as one of the best bars for a Guinness so needless to say we had to give it a try and they weren't wrong

We went here as a family and had one of the best nights of our holiday. Very friendly bar staff and lots of friendly punters too. Not sure if the prices charged were 'tourist' prices but we didn't mind as we had a really enjoyable evening. Music was on but unless you're within about 10 feet of the musicians, you... More

I stopped in here three times during a recent visit to Dublin and it was packed mostly with tourists. The bartenders are very efficient but one who poured Teeling whiskies for us was misinformed about the Teeling varieties.

Fantastic atmosphere in this very busy traditional Irish boozer. The only downside is when the live music is on, the place gets uncomfortably packed to the point that you can't move through the pub. In the end we settled for the adjoining bar which had plenty of space, while maintaining a nice traditional atmosphere.

I was aware that the rooms were above a popular pub. What I was not told, was that the pub extended far to the back of the hotel. From my room at the top and at the back, the noise was unbearable. It lasted till almost one o'clock at night. I spent three nights there. The room was pleasant and... More

This was the first pub I stepped into on my first trip to Ireland. I fell in love with it. The staff where so friendly they made me feel so welcome. Every time i went to the bar i would have a good conversation with them, it was lovely.

We chose O'Donoghue's based on reviews by other travelers, it's fame as a trad music pub offering nightly sessions, and it's strategic location (less than a ten minutes' walk from St. Stephen's Green, Trinity College, and the National Museum (Archaeology). Another helpful feature of the location: the Spar grocery loaded with deli food right across the street - great for... More
