We stayed in the Clayton Hotel Cardiff Lane recently as we went to see The Lion King Show at the Bord Gáis Theatre. The location was perfect, you could see the theatre from the entrance of the hotel so it was literally a 2 minute walk. The hotel was clean and staff were so friendly and helpful. The kids each got a goodie bag on arrival which they were thrilled with. We stayed in a family room which was a double, a single and a camp bed. I did think the room was a bit cramped for a family room but it did the job. We ate in the Stir Restaurant the first night, the food was below average. The breakfast buffet both mornings was again below average. Credit to the staff, they were so amazing and welcoming. I would definitely stay again if we were going to see a show but I don't think I would avail of the restaurant.

Stayed for 1 night in hotel with my daughter after attending the Lion King in the adjacent Bord Gáis theatre. So convenient to theatre. Parked in nearby Best car park which had a preferential deal for residents of the hotel at €15 for 24 hours. We had a 2 course dinner and glass of Prosecco included in deal which was very good value. Meal for typical hotel fare but very welcome after the show. Had a couple of cocktails in the bar before we retired to bed. Bar lacked atmosphere. Breakfast was buffet style and there were plenty of options. We checked in and out online which was very convenient. Would definitely return if I was attending a show in Bord Gáis.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Clayton. The facilities were good. We enjoyed our dinner on the first night, staff were very friendly and attentive. Your chickens wings were really good and pizzas lovely and cheesy! The swimming pool as great no hassle booking slots, seemed a bit chilly in the changing rooms but assume this is due to Covid. Breakfast is ok, but could be better. The staff were doing their best but feel people were unsure as to where to queue for the buffet. The pancakes were disappointing to be honest and the bacon was not great. On the whole we were happy and grateful they let us check out at 1pm to allow us have a swim. Thank you and happy new year to you all.

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay with us. We are delighted that overall you enjoyed your stay and we will pass your comments on to all of our staff. The location is ideal for a visit to the Theatre and we are delighted to be welcoming so many guests who are enjoying the return of the shows. I was disappointed to read that your dining experience was not up to our usual extremely high standards. I am available to discuss this if you would like to contact me directly. We sincerely hope we will welcome you again in the near future. Sincerely, Sandra Farrell Guest Relations Manager Clayton Hotel Cardiff Lane D: +353 (0) 1 643 9500 E: guestrelations.cardifflane@claytonhotels.com

Just back from a 2 night stay for daughters 8th birthday (no party this year again so we took a trip instead) Got a great deal on supervalu breaks website. On check in we were given a lovely warm welcome and a selection box each which I thought was a lovely touch...the kids were delighted. Our room was perfectly fine a double bed, single bed and a camp bed. Granted the camp bed wasn't as comfy as the others but the kids took it in turns to sleep in it so it was fine. Our swim was booked for 3pm so we checked n and went to the pool. Got there about 3.15pm to be told the pool had to close at 3.45pm. That really was a disappointment as one of the main reasons for booking this particular hotel was the pool. Anyway there was nothing we could do about it. They gave us til 4pm and we did have it booked for the following day also. Dinner in the restaurant that evening was OK. Featherblade was nice but the cabbage and carrot to come with it was more a garnish than accompaniment we had to order a side of veg. My sons kids burger was strange. It was literally half an adults burger patty cut in half so it was 2 triangular patties on mini buns...maybe they ran out of kids burgers but I've never seen a kids burgers served like this before. It was eaten but it was just strange. We did have to send back the apple tartlet as the pastery was undercooked. The replacement one was delicious. Breakfast was good both mornings. Very busy but staff doing a great job keeping everything going. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. Staff were excellent a real credit to the hotel in these tough times. We will be back.

What a great stay we had here. NYE 2021. Two families 7 guests. From our arrival the reception staff were so helpful & explained everything very well. The kids even got a goodie bag which they were delighted with. The lovely receptionist offered us late checkout as the only slot we could get in the pool was later than our checkout time. Our room was spotless. The beds very comfortable. Tea & coffee facilities in the room also. Our dinner was booked for 7pm. There was a slight problem with our dinner booking but the manager had it sorted in no time. The restaurant was busy but lots of staff. Our food was really delicious. We had drinks in the bar after. With it being table service only you would expect to have to wait a few minutes for your drinks but that was no problem & all staff doing their best at all times. Breakfast the next morning. Was hot & fresh. The guys serving there went the extra Mile to make sure everyone was happy. Overall we will definitely be back. The staff were amazing under so much pressure. There were a few guests unhappy about restrictions and took it out on the staff. The staff handled it so well in the current climate. Well done.
