The price was right and the location was good. Rooms were clean and bathrooms were actually exceptionally so. Had a great night's sleep, and the staff was really friendly and the man working the front desk actually helped us plan our whole day out.
Stayed here for three nights, Stephens Day on. Really good experience. Got a good deal (13 Euro a night) because of time of year. This hostel is centrally located. Bus station next door and the high street is one block away. It is safe here...More
The size of Jacobs Inn is reminiscent of a hotel. 4 levels of rooms with the ground floor dedicated to a huge kitchen, TV area and lounge. They have every amenity you would expect of a hostel and more. Charging ports and a reading light...More
Stayed in a 4-bed room and it was perfect for a traveler on a budget. Clean, comfy, free breakfast, wifi, USB ports, outlet converters available, good location, secure, nice staff, did I mention clean? It has a kind of hotel feel, but there are plenty...More
I stayed here over New Years hoping that there would be a bit of a party atmosphere, no such luck!
The hostel has average public facilities and most things you would need.
The dorm I stayed in was reasonably clean. The beds weren't very confortable....More

I saw a family when I was there and also older people. I am 47. Is it the best fit? Probably not but you are not there to pass much time in the hostel anyway. There is someone 24 hours at the reception. During my one night stay, i did not see drunk people in the lobby. I was expecting the worse and at midnight, I was the last one to arrive in my room of 4 and the 3 other guys were sleeping already. I was there at the end of June. There are rooms with their own bathroom. If you can book those as a family it is not bad. Note that Dublin is a party town.
