I stayed here for a week as a solo traveler for my first trip to Dublin. For, me it was exactly what I wanted. The two downsides were it's not in the city center and breakfast is not included. That said, it was not a problem for me. I enjoy walking and it was only a 15-20 minute walk into the city center, or if you prefer there is train and bus routes here too. I also had a car with me, so it was nice to be able to have street parking covered in a nice quiet neighborhood for my stay. While I had become used to breakfast included in my B&B stay, there were great eats in the area to have instead. I booked direct and paid cash to save for the full week, and was able to communicate clearly and quickly.
I'm a bit late leaving a review as we actually stayed here May Bank Holiday 2018! It was our first time in Dublin and we absolutely loved our stay here! It's a family run B&B and they were welcoming, warm, friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, a very homely feel. Location was quiet and close to local amenities so we had no problem getting around. Margaret is a wonderful host and couldn't do more to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Gave great advice on places to visit, local transport and directions. The breakfast was top notch too, proper home cooked food. We 100% recommend and would come back to visit again.
This is our third trip to Dublin and it was over the Easter weekend, The hotel was busy but the receptionist was lovely and friendly, the rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was in walking distance from town and not to noisy. You didn’t get breakfast but if you went to reception you could get a breakfast bag and a coffee which did you just right until you went out.all in all it was a very satisfactory stay.
When we arrived we were met by a lovely lady named Pauline who gave us all the info we needed and showed us to our room. The room was cosy and felt like being at home, which was exactly what we had wanted! My favourite thing about this B&B is that you’re able to go and do what you like as and when. They literally have created a home away from home! My cousin & I loved the fact we were left to our own devices, but could knock and talk to the owners if we needed. We briefly met John who was so lovely, and hope to stay again and meet Margaret! We didn’t realise our rooms would be cleaned everyday, so after going out and coming back on the first day, it was such a lovely surprise! Although we feel very sorry for being such messy 20 somethings! The bed is super comfortable and the shower is amazing!! It’s the perfect location so we got to try local independent restaurants and pubs but was only a 10 minute cab away from temple bar area! Safe to say, we will be staying here again and can’t say thank you enough for creating such a perfect home away from home!…
I arrived at Abberley House on a freezing cold November morning to a huge pot of tea and scones straight out of the oven. Margaret was there to greet me and was so lovely, providing really good info about public transport and getting around, even giving me her mobile number in case I was stuck anywhere. My room (2) was lovely , cosy and warm. Lots of tea, sugar and coffee. Exceptionally clean and nicely decorated. I would definitely recommend this BnB . Nice area and easy walking distance to city centre.
