We were in Dublin for a weekend and the hotel served us well. It's in a good location for Temple Bar, the area around Stephens Green and to walk to Lansdowne, so lots of bars and restaurants available. The hotel itself was comfortable with a good bar area and great breakfast. The rooms were clean and a good size. They... More

Stayed 2 nights with a small group. At best 3 star, maybe 2. I guess if you know in advance what to expect and if you get a decent rate then it's OK, but just. Furnishings are basic, heating wasn't working when we got there (in any of the the rooms), Wifi dint work in the room for the whole... More

Stayed at this hotel in October for 2 nights as part of a bus tour. The hotel is well situated within walking distance of Merrion Square, Trinity College, Grafton street and Epic Museum. Staff were very nice and breakfast was decent . Had no problem with WiFi and room was clean and bed was comfortable.

We stayed at the O'Callaghan Alexander Hotel for one night as we were attending a concert in the Concert Hall. It's location is ideal for Concert Hall about a 10 minute walk, a lovely walk. We ate in the bar before the concert and food was excellent and lovely staff. Breakfast was excellent the next morning.

This hotel was functional and clean, but had little else to really recommend it apart from it's location which is in the city centre and very close to many main shopping streets, galleries and attractions. We were told that there was wifi but we simply could not access it at all and found this very annoying. If they advertise the... More

The hotel is well located on the edge of central Dublin and an easy walk to most places. The rooms were a reasonable size as was the bathroom and adequately furnished and decorated. Disappointing/annoying that there was no Wi-Fi in the room. Looked like a business hotel with lots of meetings taking place in the bar/lounge area. This made sense... More

I stay in the Alexander very regularly which is testament in itself to how highly I rate this hotel. The location is one of the best in Dublin, centrally located, yet in a quiet part of town. All of the main attractions are within walking distance. The staff make a massive effort to make you feel welcome and go out... More

Good hotel , nice room with modern facilities. Very large bar area with great service at the bar. We had a private reception for our group which was handled well. The location is excellent for the superb restaurants and bars locally and the shopping area is also only 10 minutes walk away. Nice large lobby as well.

I booked this hotel for 10 journalists from Latin America, Europe and the Middle East and myself to stay in for a business trip. While I had no issues with WiFi in my room (on the 5th floor), more than half of the reporters (on the 3rd, 4th and 6th floors) had either unstable Internet or no access at all... More

The O'Callaghan Alexander Hotel has seen better days. My room had a worn, stained carpet; a bathroom with mildew and a broken toilet-paper holder; a shower head that did not properly aim away from the curtain, and a lumpy king size bed that seemed to be two twins stuck together. The WiFi worked well, the temperature was reasonable, and the... More
