This is a beautiful building set in its own grounds in the very popular and expensive area of Ballsbridge in Dublin 4. Impressive in size and grandeur but unfortunately in need of care and maintenance. Great staff who effortlessly look after their guests brings a panache to this establishment. Location fantastic too, I can only imagine how tempting this hotel... More

I always stay here with family and friends and the service is always good, even if it's busy. My room was spacious and clean, and the hotel was nice. Only thing is breakfast is (or at least was) 21 euro per person which I think is absurd, considering I don't eat a big breakfast. Otherwise, everything was quite good.

Booked a triple room for my adult daughters and I. It was small with 3 single beds and insufficient towels and toiletries. Towels were very poor quality but bed linen was good. All family rooms are on the lower floor and anyone from the car park can walk the corridors. There were people fighting outside my window at night. Breakfast... More

Stayed at the Clayton Hotel this weekend for my husbands 50th birthday, lovely room close too reception but too noisy, band playing until 2 am and then residents partying until 4 am. We left our room at 10 am returned 430 pm to get ready to go out that evening our room had not been serviced and when reported still... More

Situated in a striking Victorian era building that served as a school for girls, it in set in a lovely landscaped green area. A fine fountain, dazzling white, in front gives a pleasing perspective from the street. A large stone statue of an imposing animal is eye catching. We stopped off for a snack. Descending the stairway took us to... More

Arrived today, early after being dropped off at the wrong hotel by the taxi-driver, having to get a second cab, and so far the only positive has been they allowed us to check in early. Receptionist failed to make eye contact and mumbled throughout our check-in. Enquired about shuttle bus, receptionist told us they are unable to book for us... More

First of all this hotel is colossally huge. Which means as a rule with such big hotels, it has no personal touch and has no friendly atmosphere to it. Fair enough the waitresses at breakfast and the bar staff where very friendly. (the Irish ones that is), as the foreign east European duty manager woman had a chip on her... More

This lovely grand place needs a complete overhaul....not only as to the facilities...but wrt the staff....some are very service oriented, many are not....and perhaps should not be in the hospitality business....beware: NO air conditioning in this place..and on a hot Dublin afternoon...you roast....best to describe the place as "tattered" if not "tired"...told new management team is coming into place soon...and... Great location close to RDS. The room was large and the bed really comfortable. Service needs to be improved. One day no towels were left in the room. The quality of the food was very mixed. service in the dining room was very slow..Breakfast only started at 7 and was chaotic as coach loads of tourists mixed with business people.
